About Me

I moved to Austin about 3 years ago from Dallas.Even though most people rave about Austin I am ambivalent about this city. I moved here in part because of the nature. Austin's beautiful nature ate three of my 10 year old cats. I considered them a part of my family, my "babies."I am not sure I will ever be able to forgive myself for endangering them or the city for deceiving me about kayotes. Actually the death of my cats still really really hurts me. Since I have moved to Austin I have been dabbling in photography,( yes I took the nature photographs in the pics section and they are for sale! contact me if you are interested) theater, film and commercials. I miss Dallas and visit about every other month.I miss the Dallas Stars, Cowboy's, Mav's and my crazy Dallas friends. I love being teased, laughing, telling a funny story, cuddling my cats, a great guy, a romantic evening in front of the fireplace cooking marshmellows.

My Interests

I like a lot of things..and am always interested in trying something new. I love art, music, sports, and the out-doors. I am classically trained flautest. I was first chair flute my junior year in highschool...thank you very much! I enjoy playing my flute, duets, singing, kareoke, anything associated with movies, and the theater. I love nature and the seasons. Watching the leaves change in the fall, snow in the winter, ice-skating on a frozen pond and of course the Texas summer heat. I love being in and around water, the beach, swimming, (esp. at Deep Eddy Pool) snorkleing, scuba diving, boating, rowing on Town Lake, and tubing. I love to travel. I have been to over 25 countries. I love airports, train stations and train rides. Go figure. Sports... I love going to games. The exightment of the crowd. The Dallas Cowboys, the Dallas Stars, the Mavs. are great!I like playing some sports too..I attempt to play tennis, volley ball, soft ball (I love the batting cage, driving range).I love most animals (I hate zoo's) Horse back riding is fun! I love to dance...country and western, salsa and merengue, and club dancing in general. I love the gym, shopping, restaraunts and HAPPY HOUR!!!

I'd like to meet:

I like to meet people who are energetic, positive, think outside the box, enjoying the most out of life, and esp. have manners. I like people who treat everyone no matter what their occupation, including strangers, with dignity and respect. I want to meet people who love to go outside on a beautiful day, even if is just to sit on the porch and enjoy the sunshine. People who are active and health concious, which is different from being a health nut. I'd love to meet someone who likes to travel. People who are flexable, spontaneous and comfortable in a variety of enviornments, such as going to the park, a museum, film festival, formal event, as well as hanging out at the local dive, dancing, playing pool, or chatting at the local coffee shop. I like to make decisions about where to go or what to do, but I also like others to take initiative too. Most of all, I like to meet people who have manners and know how to treat you as well as strangers, no matter who they are, with dignity and respect. What ever happened to manners and common sense social skills? People who can smile and say hello and not be freaked out about it or necessarily think it is a pick up line ( although in some cases it can be).

Music:

I like just about everything ....including...classical guitar, Flaminco guitar....sssooo sexy, salsa and merengue dance music?, some jazz, orchestral, opera,( some) Renee Flemming makes me cry, Broadway musicals, some country.(not the depressing I ran over your dog, my husband is a drunk, beat me, left me and now I live on the railroad tracks) An oooollllddd joke...What happens when you play a country song backwards?....Your dog comes home, your husband loves you and you win the lottery. Leanne Rhimes, Patsy Kline,( great voices) Shania Twain, Toby Keith,( funny funny funny) Garth Brooks, some rock,Madonna, Powder Finger, Tubthumper, Santana, Rolling Stones, Cold Play, ...and dance music.

Movies:

I love comedies, or any movie that makes me laugh. One of my favorite movies is National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. I love the scene where the squirrel comes out of the Christmas tree. I also like animae. Horror movies give me nightmares. I saw The Shining over ten years ago and still haven't gotten over that. Blood and guts make me squeemish. Although I loved Kill Bill and Sin City. Go figure.

Television:

I love Gray's Anatomy and House. William Shatner on Boston Legal always makes me laugh. I love the not too spooky shows like Medium and Ghost Whisperer. Nature Channel is great, except when they show the animals killing and eating eachother. Sometimes I think televison producers deliberately set those horrible scenes up so they can get a "the thrill of the kill scene" to boost ratings. Disgusting, low class and horrible. I like CNN,BBC,(MSN is too depressing, filled with too many horror stories) watching Ellen Degenerous dance and Emmit Smith on Dancing with the Stars! WWWOOO HHHOOO!!! Lately, I have become addicted to American Idol and Dancing with the Stars.... I just can't help myself.

Books:

I have just read a really really great book called " The Alchemist" , by Paulo Coehlo, and "The Art of the Deal" by Donald Trump. I am embarrassed to say that was my first "business book." I am starting to read "Siddhartha" by Hermann Hesse. Usually I read the newspaper, magazines, scripts, plays, or acting books. I have a pile of books covering a variety of subjects in my bedroom waiting to be read. I used to read tons and tons of books for school...in highschool I read lots and lots of romance novels.

Heroes:

hhhmmmm.....this is a hard one for me....Heroes????....I like Katie Curic....she's persistant, tenacious, over came a lot of obsticles, sucessful, mother, cheerful, positive, a great role model. Angela Bassett, she's in her 50's looks better than 90% of 20 year olds, strong, successful, smart, educated, Yale trained, has a great husband, family... has it all.

I have to laugh.

Before I moved to Austin I considered buying a business in Dallas. I  ended up not buying the  business for many reasons, however, one of them was a business friend I consulted told me ...
