About Me

I currently live in Harborne but work in IT in Shirley. I like music, playing guitar and tapping my fingers on assorted desks. My favourite places are the City Centre, the Custard Factory, the Sunflower Lounge, Harborne and Moseley. In Nottingham, I like the Cookie Club, the Rescue Rooms and The Social. Beer, wine and food are all good. I do a bit of web site design stuff as well. Oh, and 'Trax' isn't really my name.

My Interests

Music, food, cars, computers (the good stuff that makes noises and pictures and things), outdoors, golf.

I'd like to meet:

I'll meet anyone really.

Music:

This week, i have been mostly listening to shady bard, elbow, radiohead, nick cave, micah p. hinson, uffmoor woods music club, arcade fire, gomez, belle and sebastian, elliott smith, iLiKETRAiNS, richard hawley, my bloody valentine, richard ashcroft, nick drake, sparklehorse, british sea power, ed harcourt, spiritualized, badly drawn boy, i am kloot, sufjan stevens, oasis, jarvis cocker, super furry animals, doves, alfie, paul weller, mercury rev, broken social scene, the charlatans, pulp, embrace, supergrass, R.E.M., fionn regan, sigur ros, new order, eels, the bluetones, the good the bad and the queen, blur, and gorky's zygotic mynci

Movies:

Trainspotting, Shallow Grave, Withnail and I, Italian Job, Pulp Fiction, Eternal Sunshine, High Fidelity, Lost in Translation, 24 Hour Party People, American Beauty, LOTR, Star Wars.

Television:

These days all I watch is Neighbours, The Simpsons and Top Gear. Although I do try and watch Dalziel and Pascoe for the great stories and the chance to spot bits of Birmingham disguised as Yorkshire (read the books - even better). "Brum" is good for the same reasons but with less murder. Historically - Alan Partridge (Knowing Me Knowing You is better than I'm Alan Partridge. Full Stop.), Look Around You, Coupling (before Jeff left - the fake Jeff is rubbish), The Office, Spaced, and the best comedy ever made, Father Ted.

Books:

A difficult topic as I read anything and everything. Particularly good in my opinion are 1984, Trainspotting, the National Trust handbook, Colin Dexter novels, Catch 22, Paul Theroux and Bill Bryson.

Heroes:

Ostrich burgers, Jonny Greenwood, fruit smoothies, Neil Hannon, gin and tonic (in moderation), ale, olives (green and black), ducks.
