Zenithal was formed in August, 2005, by brothers Steve (guitar) Chris (originally - bass, drums, vox) with long time friend Riley (lead guitar). Z'thal had the sole intention of playing Death Metal. Oldschool Death Metal that everyone supposedly likes, but no new bands play. Not a coincidence, Sydney metal is a sess-pool of idiocy, hypocrits, and just plain down right shit music.
Anyhow, a series of rather pathetic attempts at creating a decent song came soon after. Sure people liked the songs, but fuck, they were far from Death Metal. So Zenithal fucked that shit straight off.
During mid 2006, the band knocked up a young girl named Morgan, and insisted that in order to avoid another savage beating, she join the band on drums. Soon after Morgan was crafted into a real man, and the band took some kind of ordered shape. Zenithal proceeded to have it's most fruitful period towards the end of 2006. The songs Braindead Butchery, Human Sled and Diabolic Copulation were written amongst others, with the prior being shittily recorded in its entirety in Zenithal studio of stolen gear.
A few gig offers were presented at this point in time, but had to be turned down due to personal reasons, and gear problems (AKA the band didnt own it's own bass). Simple solution? Hire Simon. Friend of Steve and Chris, Simon was presented the opportunity which he gladly accepted. Enter phase- 'kill'.
In December 2006, upwards of 5 gigs were declined, due to lack of preparation. The debut gig was set for February, 2007 playing at some hokey Newcastle metal-fest headlined by the chaps at Aeturnus Dominion. Fairly good reactions were received, although many a strange look was given to Zenithal's home-drawn black and white flyers. Fuck off dimwits, leave your colour prints to the faggot metallers who are willing to dish $200. Buy some beer instead.
During the next few months more gigs were turned down due to educational commitments and general can't-be-fuckedness. Zenithal's second headlining show in Parramatta, featuring friends Chapel, turned out to be the biggest load of shit ever excreted and was thus abandoned once everyone had turned up, bands and fans alike.
The next few months were pretty much the story of Zenithals life. Nothing doin'. A local gig was played in Glenhaven in which a few guys dressed like girls got soppy cause they realised real men hate faggots. The gig was shit-fun and many a beer was had. After this gig the band is on hiatus until late 2007. No gig offers will be accepted until December.
