About Me

I'm an excitable, indecisive, young at heart guy seemingly born in the wrong century on the wrong planet but making the best of it anyway. I'm always ready for a good distraction from the day to day, to get on a plane and go have a good coffee or check out the view somewhere else in the world, and to mingle in new crowds regardless of their origin or concern. I'm a bit of a handful at times, but I'll make you laugh, never bore and I mean well always.

My Interests

Travel, Music, Film, Technology, Breaking things, Fixing things, Making things, Art, Sushi, Cooking, Fine Dining, Coffee, Skiing, Hockey, AAPL, Nature, Hunting, Fishing, Adventure, Culture, History

I'd like to meet:

Smart, genuine, inquisitive, honest, humorous, adventuresome, creative people. Some cool younger people would be refreshing - preferably women. People my age are generally a bit boring and too busy to do much or find interest in new people, places, or things. I'd be happy if I could find someone new to eat sushi with (nothing personal Tommy). Anyone who will tolerate me with a smile. All inquires and comments welcome.

Music:

Now listening to: Radiohead, Joseph Arthur, John Mayer, Band of Horses, Mike Doughty, Sigur Rós, Fila Brazillia, Sparkle Horse, Explosions in the sky.
Always listening to: 89.3, Anything streaming on Groove Salad at SoMaFM.com, Radiohead, Zero 7, Coldplay, Massive Attack, Portishead, Godspeed You !Black Emperor, The Verve, Harold Budd, Brian Eno.
Historical favorites and occasionally still listen to: The Cure, Love and Rockets, Bauhaus, Cocteau Twins, Dead Can Dance, This Mortal Coil, Art of Noise, Peter Gabriel,Yes, Led Zeppelin, Neil Young, old Heavy Metal.

Movies:

Difficult list to compile...Indie over hollywood, cinematography over production, production over script, scifi over drama. Humor over all.

Television:

Is evil...ok, just a bit evil, but I just can't do regular TV. I basically watch hockey games, Comedy Central, and enjoy some of the HBO series a little too much.

Books:

Reading: One Hundred Years of Solitude
Just Read: The Zen of Fish, East of Eden
Last Great Book: The Road, Cormac McCarthy. Dark and engrossing prose.
Read more than once: All the Pretty Horses, Watership Down, Life of Pi, A Prayer For Owen Meany, anything from David Sederis, The Annual World Almanac

Heroes:

Those that expose, express, risk, and show some sincerity and humility to the world.
