I'll never be a newstory.

About Me

I want that.
I'm becoming quieter with age. I adore people, and I have an abundance of wonderful friends in my life. I have overwhelming surges of joy when I'm driving my car at times, because I realize how fortunate I am. I tend to not mince words. I'm into Buddhism, but I eat meat and am not actively seeking enlightenment. I wish I were a writer.
For those times you just want to give me a gift: wishlist
Some favorite compliments:
"You sing like an angel."
"You have caustic wit."
"You're a deep motherfucker."
"You're cosmopolitan."
Most of the time nobody ever, ever talks to me. Maybe it's because I don't generally initiate conversations. So, if you want to talk to me, you will want to say something first and be persistent.
Now, for the real, quality things you need to know about me:
You are elegant, withdrawn, and brilliant. Your mind is a weapon, able to solve any puzzle. You are also great at poking holes in arguments and common beliefs. For you, comfort and calm are very important. You tend to thrive on your own and shrug off most affection. You prefer to protect your emotions and stay strong. The World's Shortest Personality Test
Did I mention my love for ridiculous net quizzies yet?

You are The High Priestess

Science, Wisdom, Knowledge, Education.

The High Priestess is the card of knowledge, instinctual, supernatural, secret knowledge. She holds scrolls of arcane information that she might, or might not reveal to you. The moon crown on her head as well as the crescent by her foot indicates her willingness to illuminate what you otherwise might not see, reveal the secrets you need to know. The High Priestess is also associated with the moon however and can also indicate change or fluxuation, particularily when it comes to your moods.

What Tarot Card are You?
Take the Test to Find Out.

You Are An INFP
The Idealist
You are creative with a great imagination, living in your own inner world.
Open minded and accepting, you strive for harmony in your important relationships.
It takes a long time for people to get to know you. You are hesitant to let people get close.
But once you care for someone, you do everything you can to help them grow and develop.
You would make an excellent writer, psychologist, or artist. What's Your Personality Type?

My Interests

In no particular order:
higher education, death and dying, multicultural understanding, iced coffee, food and wine, writing more, focusing my energies, loving Jim, singing, owls, India, quiet, introspection, driving without a particular destination--less so these days, my aunt's cabin on the Greenbrier, goal achievement, hoping that heroes will save the world.

I'd like to meet:

And anyone else. I really like people.

Love Actually
HIGH STRUNG

Television:

Books:

You're Siddhartha!
by Hermann Hesse
You simply don't know what to believe, but you're willing to try anything once. Western values, Eastern values, hedonism and minimalism, you've spent some time in every camp. But you still don't have any idea what camp you belong in. This makes you an individualist of the highest order, but also really lonely. It's time to chill out under a tree. And realize that at least you believe in ferries.
Take the Book Quiz at the Blue Pyramid .

Looks like the Book Quiz finally figured me out!
You should probably read these:
Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse: several times.
The Cider House Rules by John Irving: again, more than once.
American Gods by Neil Gaiman: it is his masterpiece.
Finally, if you feel any interest in Buddhism, read The Heart of the Buddha's Teaching by Thich Nhat Hanh.

Heroes:

to be frank, you.
