I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

Full-bodied, with a touch of oak and a soft, refreshing finish. i love words; i'm not really a fan of numbers. i LOVE Stephen Colbert, Conan O'Brien, Mitch Hedberg (may he rest in peace), and Stephen Lynch. i have an insatiable appetite for shoes. i have a freakishly photographic memory, and it's not at all selective; my mind is a veritable wasteland of useless information. i tear up when i see puppies, even in pictures. i think fennel is an abomination (to quote my friend Raffa, "it's like celery and licorice had a baby;" in my opinion, such a coupling is completely unacceptable). i'm always singing, and suffer from a condition i like to call "musical tourettes." coffee is like cocaine to me, and i require one cup a day. of each. If I seem aloof, don’t take it personally; I’m just overmedicated...i'm now a website! www.gwenhollander.com check it out, yo!

My Interests

music, general merriment, pajamas (the wearing of), playing guitar (poorly), food (the eating of), harmony (the musical kind)

I'd like to meet:

People who have dogs, like dogs, eat hot dogs, climb dogwoods; people who talk too loud on the subway, people who competed in Odyssey of the Mind as children, people who think alliteration is sexy. No smokers.

Music:

Tenacious D, Dar Williams (thank you, Raffa...), Disney songs, classic rock, anything i can sing along to

Movies:

Hmmm... too hard. But: Office Space, Best in Show (for laughing), Steel Magnolias (for crying)... seriously, it's too hard. i have a [marginally embarrassing] soft spot in my heart for "Spaceballs..."

Television:

The Simpsons, Conan, SNL (select seasons...)

Books:

most anything by John Irving (particulary "Owen Meany" and "Hotel New Hampshire"), The Time Traveler's Wife, Kite Runner, the Captain Underpants series, Dr. Seuss, Roald Dahl, The Red Tent, Fall on your Knees, Franny and Zooey
