We all have a desire to create something that will show we were here.

About Me

Ani Phearce is among the breed of DJs and producers who continue to deliver quality dance music for all to admire. His interest in music developed when he was nine years old, listening to Paco’s legendary dance parties on 92.3 WKTU FM New York. For years, Phearce deejayed disco, high energy and punk rock parties until house music was born. Eventually, this led to a professional DJ career traveling throughout America and abroad. In addition, Phearce became a resident DJ at the Subliminal Sessions parties in New York along side Erick Morillo from the party’s inception to 2002. Moved by the rhythm and throbbing bass of house music, Phearce decided to take his career in music one-step further and began producing the music that he felt would be the rave of the next generation! His early productions and remixes include the %1 Billboard hit singles “House of Love/In My House!” by Smooth Touch and “The New Anthem/Funky Buddah” by Reel 2 Real. The Crystal Waters singles “100% Pure Love” and “What I Need,” “Find Another Woman” by Reina, “Got To Dance Disco” by H.O.G. Presents The Grooveliners and “Go ..” by Reel 2 Real. Currently, he just finished co-writing and producing a new single for Carlos Santana entitled “The Vibe” that will be available on Arista Records. During his pursuit of a production career, Phearce also gained valuable experience on the business side of the industry, working at Strictly Rhythm and Subliminal Records. This eventually led to the creation of his own record company called Phearce Musica. Phearce describes his first project, Soul’amour and single “Alegria,” which has appeared on over one million compilations sold worldwide, as a collective of musical concepts dating back to when he was a young man, with an emphasis on Latin rhythms. “I undertook this project not only for love of the music but as a form of self expression. He continues, “success for me is not topping the charts but actually looking back twenty years from now and telling my next of kin that I actually followed through on my ideas. Living with regrets of what “should of,” “could of,” or “would of” been had I done something is not what I want to deal with in the future nor do I wish to set that example. In addition, Phearce also created a new moniker Iago’s Rule, under which he showcases the darker side of his personality. “My objective with Iago’s Rule and the first single “Sinner Man” is to explore and fuse provocative subjects such as sex, religion, vampirism, fetishes, punk rock, dance music and man’s insatiable appetite and ultimate submission to that which is evil and corrupt.” Recently, Phearce moved from New York to Miami, Florida where he currently hold DJs residencies at Crobar, Mansion, and Snatch, along with making special guest appearances at nightclubs in Europe and Latin America. As for the future, he’s currently working on productions that will surely continue to move dancefloors worldwide. Meanwhile, Phearce is also promoting a new Soul’amour single entitled “Babalu.” Finally, look out for his debut artist album in 2006 on Phearce Musica, the perfect vehicle for him to share with the world his visions of musical landscapes without inhibitions.
