About Me

Determined lover of words and sacred images. Child of the floricanto generation. Proud Xicanindio raised up by poets raulrsalinas, Lorna Dee Cervantes, Juan Felipe Herrera, Cherrie Moraga, Francisco X. Alarcon among a host of others including maestro Andres Segura, maestro Trinidad Sanchez, Jr. y Ricardo Sanchez que descansen en paz. While they wore their human frailties outward and periodically faced their own demons, they were all warriors who touched me once and continue to teach me. I walk humbly and fling myself into love and disaster, desire and laughter with a thrill-seeker passion. I ache from ancestral sadness and the havoc modernity has wreaked on our lineage and our mother, nuestra madre, la tierra, matiz de todo. I move to the drum made from memory, tradition and fire.
I-10 is the longest road I know. The highway from Houston, Tejaztlan to Santa Monica, Califaztlan, I have journeyed deep and hard into deserts and mountains of the storied Southwest. From the sweatlodge in South Texas only yards from the Rio Bravo, the river commonly called the Rio Grande by those north of the border which crosses our homeland like a wound, to the forests in the Lacondon, I have sought destiny and peace. From the cobblestones of Coyoacan to the pyramids of Monte Alban, my soul ascends in the mystical smoke. Aguila, jaguar y paloma. Eagle, jaguar and dove, my heart belongs equally to all, even if my spirit nahual is Ocelotl...paz luz y fuerza...target="_blank"MYSPACE PROFILE EDITOR !!!

My Interests

Filmmaking, poetry, visual art, dance and science. Stars and space. French kisses that don't end for hours. Writing, rhyming, check this timing on all the click, be-de-bop salsero heel chiming across the silver tinted dance floors of space and time curved in the redux continuum

I'd like to meet:

Poets. Dreamers. And Dancers. Likeminded literary locotes. Real gente who are as optimistic as they are jaded, positive as they are pragmatic. Individuals who care about themselves and the future, who take pride in their creativity and believe it is important to pass these things along as gifts, real people comfortable in their own skin and a healthy dose of humor. Spiritual without being dogmatic. People who like to play as much as work and can find tenderness in themselves and inspire it in those around them. World travelers who can make home anywhere and share beauty with strangers.
