Now a quick elevator statement:
RATMAN and the 8-Ball Shifters (R8S) is a hard rock power-trio from Athens, Pa. People compare us to acts like Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Black Sabbath, and other heavy metal bands. Our sound becomes unique from added funk and contemporary influences. R8S originals are on display; listen for yourself. Our cover songs run the gamut. We are constantly tweaking our sound, fiddling with our knobs and dials, and generally acting finicky over trite things like typical artists do.
Like fine chardonnay mixed with a healthy dose of Tabasco sauce and celery juice, R8S mixes the bizarre into an appetizing ensemble. With little thought toward the usual, we lust over the tiny differences: shall I wear my purple cape or the usual black?
We're a dose of 70s, 80s, and 90s alternative, funk, rock, salt, fury, rye toast and the occasional droning noise. We're rocky road with caramel, baby, so take that sherbert-flavored palette cleanser and toss it in the trash. Listen to the songs, embrace the art, and clean off the monitor when you're done!
