I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

Hey there! So if you care enough to get this far, I guess I could tell you a bit more about me. I live in Pasadena, CA with my partner of 20+ years, Jerry. I am part owner of a company specializing in the staging of live events for broadcast TV and corporations. I moved away from my home near Palm Springs at 17 and went straight to work and have been at it ever since. I came out to most everyone when I was 21. I've been clean and sober for over 21 years. I love my work and have always sworn to myself that I will never do anything for a living that I don't enjoy. I have managed to be fairly true to that. ************************************************************ ********** It feels like my social life revolves mostly around my work. I have no real schedule and keep some very weird hours. Most of my good friends are people I work with, since I spend so much time with them. I don't really care much for living in Los Angeles, but it is where my career is based so I am rather stuck. I also own a place out in the desert near Joshua Tree National Park, where I spend as much of my time as possible. My intention is to build a larger house there and live there full time and eventually retire there. ************************************************************ *********** I put together whitewater rafting excursions every summer for my friends and we always have a great time. Usually these are 4 or 5 day adventure trips down some river, using a licensed outfitter to handle the details. Catered camping with adventure, I call it. ************************************************************ ********** The high point of my year these days is Burning Man. http://www.burningman.com I went in 2006 and had some of the most fun I've had in my entire life... sober! You don't have to be wasted to enjoy Burning Man, but if that's your thing you sure won't be alone! For 2007 we built a kickass theme camp and had an amazing time! It was a lot of work and planning putting it all together but it all worked out and came off great! We built a huge arcade style game for people to play and had a really chill lounge with a DJ and fire spinners and dancing and whatever else. Our fresh tea and lemonade rivaled any on the playa and we went thru hundreds of gallons of it! It rocked! ************************************************************ *********** If you want a glimpse of what we did you can still check out the website I made for the camp before we left. http://destinylounge.outtatheway.com/DestinyLounge You can also check out my Flickr page for some more photos: http://www.flickr.com/photos/senovvadt/ We're already working on plans for 2008, so if you think you want in, drop me a note! We can always use more like minded souls! ************************************************************ ********** Other than all that, I spend way too much time on my computer, chatting with friends, looking at cute guys, and generally poking into odd corners of the internet. I love long driving trips thru National Parks and beautiful scenery. I have been to 48 of the 50 states in my life, traveled to Rome twice, Tokyo twice, Mexico and Canada a few times, and one amazing trip to Australia where I went scuba diving on the Great Barrier Reef and hiked in a rainforest. Anyway... that's all for now. Guess it beats the one line I had in this space before. Thanks for stopping by!

My Interests

Burning Man (Amazing), Hiking, Summer Whitewater Rafting Adventures (ask me if you want in), Skydiving (twice, but I may go again), 4-Wheeling, Camping, Keyboards, Piano, Theater, Computers, Chatrooms, IMs

I'd like to meet:

I like chatting with fun people. I am open to most ideas so if you think you like what you see don't be afraid to ask. ;-)Ya know it's amazing how the hits to my page went up when I was using that old pic of me at 14....This video has the first piece of music I ever got paid to write on it from back in 1992. Thanks to my friend Danny for posting it!

Music:

Older stuff: Yes, Pink Floyd, Led Zepellin, Peter Gabriel, Kevin Gilbert, Supertramp, Beatles, Eagles, Genesis, Allman Brothers, etc etc. Newer stuff: Tool, Radiohead, Puddle of Mudd, Lostprophets, Queens of the Stone Age, Nickelback, Buckcherry, Lacuna Coil, Breaking Benjamin, Army of Anyone, AFI, Evanescence, Puscifer, Tantric, Hinder, Adema, Muse, tons more... (New music happens so often that there is no way I can keep this list current with what I listen to) I love Trance and Techno stuff for driving or when I am in the right mood. It's easier to say I do NOT care for most Rap, Screamo, Opera, C/W or Reggae. Other than that, I'm pretty much into anything with a melody.

Movies:

LOTR! Contact is one of my faves... I really don't see that many movies these days. I spend half my adult life in dark rooms staring at screens. Somehow that isn't really what I want to do when I have free time. If I do go see movies, I like comedies, sci-fi, and lighter fare.

Television:

Don't watch much of it.

Books:

Tolkien, Asimov, Clarke, Niven, any good sci-fi or sci fantasy. Also find myself reading some American history stuff like Lewis and Clark and miscellaneous bios. Rather a weird assortment lately. I usually have at least 2 books in progress at any time.

Heroes:

J. Rod Basehore, my high school drama teacher. I owe my career and probably my sanity to him. He and his wife are still wonderful friends and I visit them a couple of times a year. He was there for me at a time in my life when I needed a mentor. I will always be grateful to him.

Game prototype 1

I spent some time today here in Joshua Tree building a prototype of a part of the new game for our Burning Man camp this year. It actually worked with a minimum amount of fussing, unlike the 3 prototy...
