Leave the Gun - Take the Cannolis

About Me

~I was born and raised in Chicago and have lived in New York City since 1988. I was in the music industry most of my adult life in several aspects, including radio promotion, artist management and tour marketing. I've worked with lots of crap (Bon Jovi, KISS) as well as artists that I loved because I either respected them or were a blast to work with (Bruce Springsteen, Jesse Malin, Kula Shaker, Def Leppard, James, etc.) as well as having managed a talented record producer.
~So, after years of making other people rich, I bailed to start a catering company with my husband, who is an amazingly talented chef. OK, I pimp my husband for a living. I now own and run my company, BeHolm Catering , which is a lot like being in the music biz, as putting on an event is like putting together a concert. Budget, hiring waiters/road crew, rent dinnerware/hire backline, drunk bride/drunk drummer...see, it's the same! And I cater lots of music industry events, so I'm in my element without having to deal with the bullshit that the music biz has become!
~I'm damn happy, although I think it's healthy to get pissed off once in a while - and it burns off calories.
~I work too much, but I always find time for music and watching sports, which reminds me, the European husband is turning me into a football fan - not American football!
~I live in Spanish Harlem, despite not speaking a word of Spanish, travel as often as I can, watch lots of baseball (and yes, it's OK that I love the Yankees AND the Cubs because I spent half my life on the North Side of Chicago and the other half in NYC, now just 3 subway stops away from Yankee Stadium, thank you very much!) and live with my adorable husband and my two cats, Wilmer and Bernie.
