About Me

I'm 5"7". I weigh 145 lbs. Have long brown hair...look like a metal-head. I have what some would say to be hazel-colored eyes, but I would say blue/grey. I look ridiculously young and I hate it. I often wear black. The two words my friends use the most to describe me are loyal and honest. If you're on my side, I got your back 100%, and I'll do anything for you. But if you piss me off, you WILL feel my wrath. So look out. That's a quality I've taken from my mom. I am single once again. I'm currently living in Connecticut, after living in Florida for a short amount of time. I've been told by numerous people over the years that I'm a great dancer. I used to work as a mascot for the Bridgeport Bluefish minor league baseball team. I also was the Husky Dog mascot for the University of Connecticut (Go UConn Huskies!) back in 1998-99. Plus, I love to hate Notre Dame, University of Tennessee, and Florida State. Right now, I'm still trying to figure out where the heck I belong in this world of life that I call hell. Some quotes that I happen to like a lot are:"Second place is the first loser" - Unknown "You don't win the silver, you lose the gold" - Unknown "If winning isn't important, then why keep score?" - Vince Lombardi "Call me arrogant, cocky, crybaby, whiner or whatever names you like. At least they're not calling us losers anymore. If people like you too much, it's probably because they're beating you." - Steve Spurrier (Former Player/Coach of the Florida Gators football team) "If you aren't a Gator and we're scoring a lot and I'm calling the plays, you aren't going to like me. Winners admire other winners, and losers resent winners." - Steve Spurrier (Former Player/Coach of the Florida Gators football team) "No Hope = No Fear" - Pete Steele (Singer/Songwriter/Bassist of Type O Negative) "Aargghh!!!" - Me (Or any Pirate/Captain you can think of)

My Interests

First and foremost, I bleed Orange and Blue, and Husky Blue and White. In other words, GO GATORS!!! and GO HUSKIES!!! That's right! I'm a die-hard fan of Florida Gator football and UConn basketball. I revolve almost everything in my life around it. Yes, I'm that passionate about it. I'm a big Star Wars fan, but not a Star Wars geek. Although I love the original trilogy, I can't talk about it endlessly, like so many people. I consider myself a fan of the Dark Side, as Darth Vader, Darth Maul and Emperor Palpatine/Darth Sidious are my three favorite characters. I'm always all about the bad guys. The best line in any Star Wars movie comes from Darth Vader: "I hope so commander, for your sake. The Emperor is not as forgiving as I am." I love 80's movies and the best line in any movie ever comes from Rowdy Roddy Piper in "They Live.": "I'm here to kick ass and chew bubblegum...and I'm all out of bubblegum." I also love 80's music (all kinds), and I especially love to breakdance. I'm a breakdancing nut, and get down on the dance floor when given the opportunity. I also love to play basketball. Shooting hoops is a big stress reliever for me. I hate winter and love the summer time. The moment it dips below 40 degrees, I'm whining like a bitch, but it could get up to 200 degrees, and I could care less. I love animals, but I would definitely consider myself a cat lover. I've had cats all my life, and they are much easier to take care of than dogs. Plus they are much quieter too. No annoying, incessant barking. And they won't knock you down either when they are excited. Plus, the bullshit that cats are less friendly than dogs is totally untrue. Trust me on this. I know from experience. All my cats have been awesome!

I'd like to meet:

Above all, I'd like to meet Lawrence Wright. He was a former defensive back for the 1996 Florida Gator National Championship football team. Was a bad-ass at UF, and a thug (a term he used to describe himself) growing up. Extremely fun and funny guy, who turned his life around in the most positive sense, and now spends his days helping children who are facing the same trials that he faced growing up. Hard hitting player who also coined the phrase "If you ain't a Gator, you must be Gator Bait!" After him, I'd love to meet any of my top 5 female hottie celebrities: Katie Holmes, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Lacey Chabert, Jennifer Aniston, and Britney Spears...just to get my picture with them! And lastly, but certainly not least...I want to meet the woman I want to spend the rest of my life with. Without someone to share my life with, then what is living? I want someone I can grow old with...share my days with...someone I can call my best friend. I want someone to love me, as much as I love her. Forget everything else in this whole darn profile...if I have that...I am truly happy. "If she's out there somewhere, somewhere, I would give everything to know..."

Music:

Many people tell me that their musical tastes are eclectic. Well...most of these people are full of shit. Now, MY musical tastes are eclectic. I love a little bit of everything. You name a musical category, and I can pretty much guarantee that I have something from it in my extensive collection. Music is my life, and without it, I probably would have ended it years ago. My three favorite bands are completely different: Sister Hazel, Type O Negative, and Def Leppard. If you never heard of the Southern Rock group Sister Hazel, then you are missing out. Never has one band brought so much joy into my life. Excellent vocals...especially the lead singer Ken Block, who has the greatest voice in the music industry today. Breathtaking harmonizing, and inspiring lyricists, not to mention that they are the nicest guys around. These guys write the lyrics to our lives and then some. As for Type O Negative, a gothidelic heavy metal band, well... they definitely fit my angry, depression filled moods. Plus, the lead singer of TON, Pete Steele, has such a cool, deep voice. And no one can rock better and pump you up more then Def Leppard. However, I also like some rap, mostly 80's old-school rap. My friends say I'm stuck in the 80's, and I am. I love 80's music (the New Wave one hit wonders, the long-haired metal bands, etc.) Still, at least I don't have a mullet! My hair is evenly long all around, thank you very much! Some other bands/artists that I like are: The Daniel Ferrari Band (check them out...they are in my top 20 myspace friends...these guys are fantastic and they are extremely cool people as well!), Adios Pantalones, The Rising, Aqua, Queen, Will Smith, Guns 'N' Roses, Van Halen, Journey, Survivor (Eye of the Tiger is the greatest song of all time!), Life of Agony, 69 Eyes (Finnish Gothic Metal band that sounds like Type O Negative), The Birthday Massacre, U2, John Mayer (fellow Fairfield High Classmate!), Fear Factory, Chicago, The Calling, Billy Joel, Pillar, Petra, P.O.D., White Zombie, Jewel, Evanescence, AC/DC, Metallica, The Cars, Supertramp, Huey Lewis and the News, Skid Row, Tom Petty, Nine Inch Nails, Real McCoy, REO Speedwagon, RATT, Dust to Dust, Grandmaster Flash, Hootie and the Blowfish and the latest band that I've discovered about a year ago...Monsterus. These guys are awesome. They are a Christian Heavy Metal band that sounds like a cross between Rob Zombie and Nine Inch Nails. The guitar riffs are bad-ass! The choruses often pump you up...and the beats are heavy. These guys are the future of Christian Metal...and I think with them, not only has the standard been set, it'll be tough to beat. If you wanna hear a little bit for yourself, go to their myspace page. You WON'T be disappointed.

Movies:

I love all Star Wars films (well, at least the original trilogy anyway), Indiana Jones films, and Back To The Future films, Weird Science, Revenge of The Nerds (I can quote WS and ROTN from beginning to end), The Wedding Singer, The Last Dragon, Bloodsport, Halloween, Commando (and most Ah-nuld movies), Independence Day, Footloose, The Goonies, Breakin', Beat Street, Teen Wolf, Aliens, Rocky III, Rocky IV (and some other Sly movies), The Princess Bride, Armageddon, and The Karate Kid. I like a lot of action films, and Jean-Claude Van Damme and Steven Seagal flicks. I'm a big Horror movie buff too, but unfortunately (with the exception of Halloween, because Michael Myers is one bad-ass scary mofo!) they don't scare me. Oh yeah, and most Harrison Ford movies kick ass too. Harrison Ford is definitely my favorite actor, and he is the only actor who I will pay to see the movie without concern for the plot, just because he is in it.

Television:

The Simpsons is the greatest show ever on television. Enough said on that. If you want a good suspense/action show, look no further than 24. This is by far the biggest adrenaline rush type show on television. It definitely gets my heart pumping week after week. I also like That 70's Show. And the only "Reality TV" show I watch is Criss Angel's Mindfreak on A&E. This guy is freaking amazing. He performs stunts and illusions that seem impossible to the naked eye and yet he often does these acts right on the street in front of crowds of people with no B.S. He's always pushing the boundaries in the realm of magic...and often puts his life at risk in the process. It's jaw-dropping and fascinating to watch. Plus, I like his taste in music. He's a metal-head, like myself. Seriously, check out this show! You won't be disappointed. For past great TV shows, I loved Undeclared (too bad it didn't even last 1 full season!), Friends, The Wonder Years, and Family Ties (Michael J. Fox is the shit! Thank you for so many great memories Michael).

Books:

Dare To Dream - UConn's Run to the 1999 National Championship by Jim Calhoun, Tales From the Gator Swamp: Reflections of Faith and Football by Danny Wuerffel, Pet Semetary by Stephen King (scariest book ever!), Love by Leo Buscaglia, Under The Tarnished Dome - How Notre Dame Betrayed It's Ideals For Football Glory by Don Yaeger and Douglas S. Looney, The Parent's Complete Guide To Soccer by Joe Provey and Owen Lockwood (my brother!)

Heroes:

This category is very easy to me. I can think of 4 people who come to mind very quickly. And only two of these four are celebrities. The first is Danny Wuerffel. Danny Wuerffel is my favorite athlete/celebrity of all time! If you don't know who he is, shame on you! Seriously, he was a former QB for the Florida Gators during their National Championship season. He is one of the nicest, classiest guys ever in sports. He's also a devout Christian who has done so much good for so many people. If there's a better role model out there, you'll be hard-pressed to find him or her. However, there is one other celebrity role model that is right on par with Danny. I'm talking about Ken Block, the lead singer of Sister Hazel. Besides making the most upbeat, inspiring, fun and touching music today, Ken is THE man. Extremely friendly, funny, down to earth guy, who goes out of his way for the fans ("Hazelnuts") at every occasion, and also like Danny, uses his fame to make the world a better place. He turned a huge negative into a positive in founding the Lyrics For Life organization and is just one of the nicest, most giving people that one could ever meet. WE NEED MORE PEOPLE LIKE HIM IN THIS WORLD. And as for the last 2, well...they just happen to be the 2 closest people in my life. Maybe that's why I'm so close to them...because I admire them so much. Or maybe it's the other way around. Either way, these 2 people rock and they mean more to me than anyone on the planet. They are my brother and my mother. My mom has done so much with so little, and has managed to turn so many negatives into positives. I could say so many other good things about her, but I probably wouldn't stop writing. As for my brother, well I'll just say that he's my bro, my best friend, my father-figure in some ways, and everything that's right with people all rolled into one. They say that no human being on the planet is perfect, but if I could take all the great qualities from these 4 people, and make them my own, I would be perfect. And I think that sums it up best. It's great to have heroes that you can see and/or talk to each and every day of your life. I am blessed.

I'm not afraid to die. I'm afraid to live. What for this world do I have to give?   I'm not afraid to fly. I'm afraid to fall. I'm not afraid to try. I'm afraid I'll fail. &nb...

Wow! Who knew horoscopes could be right?

I've never blogged before, so this is something brand new for me.  But I felt this was worthy of  writing.  I don't normally put too much stock into horoscopes, but I read my horoscope ...
