Our reason coexists with our insanity....

About Me

I'm married and currently living in the 8th of the states I've resided in in the past several years. No, I'm not running from the law, I swear! Just ask the FBI they've got an extensive file on me....Seriously.
~~~~~
I love music! I'm always listening to something. I can't imagine not having music around. I'm what most people might call a Book Worm. I consider that a compliment. Generally, I don't go anywhere without something to read. Face it folks, Reading is SEXY! ;)
~~~~
I find it more difficult than I thought it might be to keep yammering about myself, so I'm going to cut this short and maybe change it up a little some other time.
~~~~
I love meeting new people, so please, say hello and send me a message -- what's the worst thing that could happen? -- I can ignore you or decline you -- and really, would that be so horrible? You probably wouldn't even notice. ;)
Music:
The Clarks, Vertical Horizon, Sister Hazel, Daughtry, Rob Thomas, Matchbox 20, Dishwalla, Better Than Ezra, The Calling, Alex Band, Nickelback, Gin Blossoms, Goo Goo Dolls, Snow Patrol, K.T. Tunstall, Michael McDonald, Dave Koz, David Benoit, Paul Taylor, Acoustic Alchemy, Kim Waters, Michael Lington, Wayman Tisdale, Al Jarreau, Boney James, Rick Braun, Chris Botti, George Benson
And the list goes on and on and on and on....
Movies:
I enjoy a good movie - or sometimes a movie someone else might not think is so good. It's all relative, isn't it? Here are a few I enjoyed, in no particular order....Casablanca, Last of the Mohicans, The Bourne Trilogy, Casino Royale, The Usual Suspects, Girl With the Pearl Earring, The Talented Mr. Ripley, Memento, Moonstruck, City of Angels, Shakespeare in Love, The English Patient....and like the music, the list goes on and on and on and ....well, you get the picture...
Television:
Grey's Anatomy, Anderson Cooper 360, Entourage, Bones, Lost, Dexter, Brothers & Sisters, House..
Books:
I read far too much to put a comprehensive list here so for now, let's just start with a few things.
I think Anita Shreve writes like a painter. I love it when the prose is so incredible that you don't even realize you're reading.
Some Titles I've Really Enjoyed
Memoirs of a Geisha ~Arthur Golden
The Mermaids Singing ~Lisa Carey
In the Country of the Young ~Lisa Carey
The Lovely Bones ~Alice Sebold
The Secret Life of Bees ~Sue Monk Kidd
Snow in August ~Pete Hamill
Interred With Their Bones ~Jennifer Lee Carrell
Born Standing Up ~Steve Martin
Most things written by Nick Hornby
Any and every single thing ever written by David Sedaris. I think if he scrawled something on a napkin at Starbucks I'd think it was brilliant.
One of my all time favorite books is
The Shadow of the Wind ~Carlos Ruiz Zafon
If you're looking for a really wonderful read - The Shadow of the Wind is it.
I can't end this section without a plug for my favorite Journalist's book either. I've read it more than once and I really enjoyed it.
Dispatches from the Edge - A Memoir of War, Disasters, and Survival ~Anderson Cooper
That seems like a good start. Rarely will you ever catch me without something to read.
Ask me about books or tell me what you're reading...
Heroes:
My Mom - She's an amazing woman.
People who are truly decent human beings.
Dr. Randy Pausch
Spend a little time without your worldly possessions and you very quickly come to the realization that there are a zillion little everyday things you take for granted. Currently, I'm sitting on the fl...
Miles to Go Before I Sleep
I am not a fan of moving.  Not that you could tell that from the way I've been living the past 11 years of my life.  8 states, 3 time zones, just under 11 years. I'm not running from the law...
Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night
His name was Joel. He was a year ahead of me in school. He had wavy jet black hair and big brown eyes. He was a veritable completed check list of the things every teenage girl wants in a boy. Cute? C...
How Bizzare!
Last night I had the strangest dreams.  Yes, I do recognize that as the opening to a verse of a song, but it's true, I did have very strange dreams last night.  I can't remember everything o...
Something That You Said
Today while I'm working, I've got my MP3 player going.  I find my work, or anything for that matter, goes much better with music playing.  An Al Jarreau song just came on and it's just one o...
I spent the better part of my morning tied up on conference calls.  At this point, I'd just like to note that I HATE them.  I hate them a lot!  It seems like I always walk away from the...
