When I was pretty young my sister Susan told me that I should be a renaissance man. I took that advice to heart. I spent most of my formative years on a farm in Opp, Alabama. I've brewed 30 or so styles of beer at this point in my life. I really enjoy seeing small time bands play in very cramped hot clubs and bars. I like sneaking off to Montevallo to play bluegrass occasionally. Hank Williams Jr's lead guitarist taught me how to play guitar. I once built a fridge out of styrofoam, weather stripping, a computer fan, two one gallon bottles, and a thermostat. I used to work for [adult swim]'s marketing department. I also used to be the director of an information technology department. I fixed Bill Nye's computer once. I was voted most talented of my high school class. I'm a recovering Halo addict. Sometimes I'm not very outgoing because I'm deeply afraid of having to talk to crazy people. Crazy people seek me out so that they can drive me crazy. I got in a fight with an Alabama fan during Iron Bowl weekend in Auburn once. I was class president my junior year. I used to play drums and one of my few regrets is that I didn't play them more. I love being covered in mud. My favorite social situation is a campfire. I'm a minor celebrity/folk hero in the wiregrass. Most of my closest friends are originally from south Alabama. I love Alabama football. I spoke at MIT when I was 18. I've rarely lived up to my academic potential. I've had a job since I was 16. My funnel is a weapon of mass destruction. I used to have a solaris shell account. Thanks to my beard, hair, and love of flannel shirts I often look like a lumberjack. I will forever be linked with a handful of great friends by our left feet. I really like beer festivals. Once I partied with some kids at Princeton at 11am on a Monday. I used to be a political consultant/ad designer. I'm a baseball geek, and I love the Red Sox. You can see me in the background of a scene in Real World Philadelphia. You'd have a hard time guessing who my siblings were and who my neices and nephews are in family pictures. I generally spend most of my Sundays sitting in bed listening to APR and reading/sleeping because I work midnight to 4am on Sunday nights. I have a weird sense of humor that people either love or shun. Wolverine is my favorite comic character ever. I have two seasons of Pete and Pete on DVD. I've lost 8lbs since I bought a Nintendo Wii. I find myself up really late listening to Art Bell's radio show on the paranormal. Random right?
