About Me

Read my VisualDNA ™ Get your own VisualDNA™ i live in nashville, TN and do relational marketing for a non-profit. i think 'mom' jokes are always funny. always. not the mean 'your mommas so..' but just the 'your mom'. i'll laugh every single time. i literally think part of my soul would shrivel up and die if my ipod ever again gives me a folder of death. i feel more at home in a live show than almost anywhere else in the world. //////////////////////////////////////////////////// i'm a geek of a reader--and an underliner. my favorite books look like lived in disasters. ////////////////////////////////////////////////////// i love to write. one of my favorite authors, anne lamott, has a theory that half of the skill of writing is just actually sitting down and doing it...even when...especially when...you have nothing profound to offer. Im addicted to a variety of things that stain my teeth and tense up my muscles. /////////////////////////////////////////////////////// shakespeare makes me hope and great art makes me feel complete. i think michaelangelo was brilliant and tragic all at once and each quality deepened the other. captain crunch berry is one of my favorite cereals and people who can draw leave me speechless. i spend more money than i care to publicize each month on music. and although my friends still shake their heads in disbelief, i'm the biggest nascar fan you've ever freaking seen.

My Interests

i lose all track of time in record stores--the older, the 'indier' the better. great conversation is an essential for me but a rocking makeout session might not be turned away. :) i have to read...both great literature and 'beach' books--they bring me dimension. I'm codependent with music and portable ways of listening to it. i love to paint and fear i'm terrible at it but do it anyway b/c there is something addicting about the possibility of a blank canvas. i love to photograph people who don't know they're being photographed--not in a stalker sense, but to me the picture always seems better when people aren't 'on'. i hope to change the world, in great and small ways, with my contribution. and on sundays (and sometimes saturdays) you'll find me parked in front of the tv, yelling cheering on my favorite nascar driver! i'm ALL in.

I'd like to meet:

people who love music, love to find new bands and whose hearts race when they find some random underground venue to watch them play. a designer who can make a high heel that takes my breath away and doesn't pinch my toes. and any man that can change a tire.Layout made by fainaru at CreateBlog.com .

Music:

where to begin? i feel like the advent of the ipod has suffocated my ability to accurately answer the question: 'so, what are you listening to?'. right now, as far as i can tell, i'm compulsively listening to the damnwells, the weepies, lynden, colin hay, the weakerthans (left and leaving is one of the most essential albums of my life), the fray, great lake swimmers, joshua radin, ray lamontange, death cab for cutie, butch walker, anything johnny cash, citizen cope, rhett miller, snow patrol.things i love and i'm sure will overtake me again soon: u2, lyle lovett, jonny lang, the postal service, david wilcox, frou frou, jump little children, 3 doors down, staind, gavin degraw (specifically the stripped stuff and the live stuff), jeff buckley, old crowe medicine show, iron and wine....

Movies:

if it has vince vaughn in it, i've most likely seen it and LOVE it. the godfather trilogy (love the mob!!), fight club, lord of the rings trilogy, fargo, empire records, american history x, walk the line, crash, high fidelity, thank you for smoking, garden state, so i married an axe murderer, the power of one, stroker ace, and the wedding crashers.

Television:

prision break, the office, sex and the city, criminal minds, grey's anatomy. any will and grace rerun...they just make me laugh out loud. i'm also a sucker for conan o'brien. i have kept people up in hotels with my raucous laughter. **true stories...hand to god** :)

Books:

'the agony and the ecstasy (irving stone), the girls guide to hunting and fishing (melissa banks), the cry and the covenant (morton thomas) are the ones i'd grab if my house were burning down. currently re-reading the count of monte cristo (one of my all time favorite books), pride and prejudice (damn that mr darcy is sexy!), and a biography of ghandi. i try to read a little thomas merton every day b/c it shines light where it should.
