About Me

I remember when I thought i was an M.C. I was 13 and it was 1979!. I witnessed and heard the birth of Hip Hop and was hooked in. I was "Joey Jee" back then and with my cousin "Alo Rock", you couldn't tell us shit. Needless to say i sucked, but my passion for music, especially the underground, was born. It was all about the Hip Hop for awhile until i met Mr. David Lozada (as seen in the movie "Maestros" based on that era). He introduced me to his mixed tapes full of this "dance" and "house" music and later to the scene that is still talked about being the glory years of the underground. My unique taste in music never got me "commercial" gigs or big residencies. But , throughout the years, I have landed gigs all over the art communities and in Major Museums just by word of mouth cause of my ecclectic collection of world music, especially, African based rhythms. It was during my small residency in a place called Camaradas, where I had the pleasure of meeting "The innovator of the master mix", Mr. Eric Prince.I haven't heard mixing or blending like that since the mixed tapes given to me by David from Larry Levan, Tee Scott and by David himself. I am not exactly sure what convinced him to become "my brother from other mother"(gotta ask him), but we clicked hard and decided that it was time to re-introduce the music that inspired (and still does) us to become D.J.'s in the first place. It is strictly for the love of it. With this, we introduced "CeeDogg Presents". A monthly half hour mix of the old school as well as the new undeground world music. Feel free (and it is free) to visit our site at http://feeds.feedburner.com/ceedoggpresents.There you can also view our upcoming events and contact info. Thats enough! Hope to see you all soon!
