About Me

I should take this opportunity to say that my name isn't Shane, but Shaun. Long story. And people often say I'm weird, but I wouldn't necessarily say that it's a bad thing...

---

A bit more about me:

Let's see. Brevity isn't my forte, but I'll try my best. My name's Shaun Munro, I'm 18 years old, currently living in Chelmsford, Essex.

Interests: - Watching films (I like to think of myself as a film buff)

TV (I'm such a TV geek, it's ridiculous - think of any obscure cult TV show and I've more than likely seen it)

Rock and Metal music (my favourite bands being Queens of the Stone Age, Metallica, Iron Maiden, The Smashing Pumpkins, Nine Inch Nails and Nirvana

Gaming (probably my longest-lasting interest. I have fond memories of using an Amiga 500 when I was 3 years old, and 15 years later, I have a gaming PC, a PS2, a GameCube, an X-Box, an N64, a Mega Drive, and a Dreamcast)

Playing my electric, acoustic and bass guitars. I wouldn't really say I'm a virtuoso or anything, but it's a fun away to spend a few hours, and I find it very relaxing.

Browsing the wonder that is the Internet.

Writing film scripts (it's the career I'd love to go into, and whilst it's obviously at an amateur level right now, I'd love for it to materialise into something more)

Yeah, I suppose you could say I'm a geek, really, but that's cool. I sort of revel in it anyway.

More About Me:

I've got a 20-year old brother, who's taking a year out before heading to University, and a 15-year old sister at The Boswells School, who's starting her final year in September.

I attained 12 GCSEs. 1 A*, 2 Bs, 9 Cs. I failed Art, oh dear.

I attained grades AAC (and BCD in my lesser subjects) at A-Level, so I'll be heading off to the University of Essex in early October (a lot later than most Unis for some reason) to study Film Studies and Literature. I'd like to this to lead me to scriptwriting or film direction, but I'd also love to be a film critic for a living.

I took my parents to court when I was 14. It's always a fun story to tell people as it almost always surprises them.

I got rid of my glasses! Ah, you've got to love the old primary school days when coke-bottle sized glasses were a fashion accessory _

The Future:

October 2006: Start my degree in Film Studies and Literature.

June 2009: Finish said degree (hopefully) and emerge from University with the ever-dreadful student debts.

Goals I would like to achieve: Survive my first year of University, basically. Money will be pretty tight, but I guess it'll be an interesting test for living in the "real world". Tins of spaghetti are only 20p, right? And if things get really dire, I can just live on bread and water. Of course, that comes with the consequence of probably contracting scurvy.

And I'd like to be a bit more social, I 'spose. I'm kinda shy, and I hope University allows me to branch out a bit and come out of my shell and such.

My Test Results

The Politics Test - You are a "Social Liberal" (70% permissive) and an "Economic Conservative" (60% permissive)". You're best described as a Libertarian. You exhibit a very well-developed sense of right and wrong and believe in economic fairness.

The Zombie Scenario Survivor Test - You are an Official Survivor (you scored 74%). Whether through ferocity or quickness, you made it out. You made the right choice most of the time, but you probably screwed up somewhere. Nobody's perfect, at least you're alive.

The Personality Defect Test - You are the Capitalist Pig (100% rational, 71% extroverted, 57% brutal, 42% arrogant). You are less emotional than most, focusing more on logic. You are also more selfish, greedy, and care very little for the well-being of others, hence you probably hold capitalistic political views. This also means that you are particularly swinish, willing to grouse in any amount of shit for your own gain, and obese with greed. You are also an extrovert, like most of the people in the hallmark capitalistic country of America. Despite these traits, you are surprisingly not very arrogant, tending to view yourself as equal to others, just like the principle of Democracy in America. Which seems strange given that you are so mean and brutal to others at times. But despite your intentions to see others as equal, and to not be an arrogant twat, it must always be remembered that while all animals are created equal, some are more equal than others--the pigs being more equal. So while you may not be full of yourself, you certainly don't treat others with the respect they deserve. So like any farmyard pig, you are greedy, noisy, and don't care about others. The only difference between you and a pig is that you are more rational and intelligent. In conclusion, your personality defect is that you are a bit too logical, rather unemotional, way too extroverted, and also very brutal in regards to others. You may even be a bit insecure about yourself, little piggy. But at least you're not a platypus. It must suck to be a platypus, you know? All those identity issues. You are more RATIONAL than intuitive. You are more EXTROVERTED than introverted. You are more BRUTAL than gentle. You are more HUMBLE than arrogant. Your exact opposite is the Starving Artist . Other personalities you would probably get along with are the Smartass , the Braggart , and the Spiteful Loner .

The Commonly Confused Words Test - You are an English Genius ( 92% Beginner, 100% Intermediate, 100% Advanced, and 80% Expert) . You have the uncommon intelligence necessary to understand things that most people don't. You have an extensive vocabulary, and you're not afraid to use it properly! Way to go!

The Nerd? Geek? Or Dork? Test - You are an Outcast Genius ( 52 % Nerd, 69% Geek, 52% Dork) . Outcast geniuses usually are bright enough to understand what society wants of them, and they just don't care! They are highly intelligent and passionate about the things they know are *truly* important in the world. Typically, this does not include sports, cars or make-up, but it can on occasion (and if it does then they know more than all of their friends combined in that subject). Outcast geniuses can be very lonely, due to their being outcast from most normal groups and too smart for the room among many other types of dorks and geeks, but they can also be the types to eventually rule the world, ala Bill Gates, the prototypical Outcast Genius.

The "Would You Have Been A Nazi?" Test - You are the Everyday German ( 61% brainwashworthy, 18% antitolerant, and 38% blindly patriotic) . Had you lived in Germany in the 1930s, you'd have probably just gone along with the flow. Men with guns are surrounding the house next door? The bagel place on the corner's gone? Hmm...whatever. The data show you're a decent person who's willing to listen to what people of authority tell you. That's what most people are, and in most times and most places, that's ok. But not then; not there. The sad conclusion: you would've missed your Jewish friends, but you would've done nothing about it. Seriously. But rest assured, you would've forgiven yourself eventually.

The "Your Type of Girl" Test - Your type is The Girl Next Door ( 58% Sexy-Cute, 48% Dark-Light, 58% Artsy-Stylish) . Cute, neither Dark nor Light, and neither Artsy nor Stylish. This sounds like a blah category, right? Oh, my, no. The Girl Next Door has been the subject of more dirty fantasies than you could possibly count. She's so sweet, and innocent, and infinitely corruptible. Every morning you glance out your window hoping she'll have forgotten to draw the blinds. You may feel bad about it, but you know you'll be doing it again tomorrow.

The RPG Class Test - You are a Fighter ( 62% Combativeness, 26% Sneakiness, 44% Intellect, 16% Spirituality) . Good at hitting things and with a definite violent streak; you are a Fighter! Fighters are the basic martial combatants in D&D. Their abilities and skills vary wildly between individuals, but they all share one thing in common…a definite preference for violence. You're either really defensive, have an unhealthy fascination with sharp objects…or you just like hurting people. Either way, you should probably try and keep your cool. Being able to hack someone into pieces maybe a useful skill in most RPGs, but in real life it will just get you into trouble.

The "What Is Your Real Age?" Test - You are 33 years old!

The Sexuality Spectrum Test - You are Mostly Straight. You scored 31 (-52 being completely gay, 0 being bisexual, and 52 being completely straight). You are mainly heterosexual, but you have a few homosexual qualities. You much prefer the opposite sex, but you have a mild interest in the same sex. If you disapprove of homosexuality, it is likely that you act overly straight to deny your slight gay tendencies. If you are comfortable with your sexuality, you might be up for experimenting with members of the same sex if given the opportunity. If you are sexually inexperienced, you could shift on the spectrum at a later time depending on whether you have sexual encounters with the same sex and whether or not you like those encounters.

The "Am I Gay?" Test - You are The Straight! Stand up and be heard! You're 31% gay! You're straight! You can choose whether or not you should be proud of that. You have just enough gay in you to not look like a liar, but too little to be really gay. You're surprised, aren't you?

The "Who Would You Be in 1400 AD?" Test - You are The Knight! (31% Cardinal, 38% Monk, 44% Lady, and 51% Knight!). You are the hero. Brave and bold. You are strong and utterly selfless. You are also a pawn to your superiors and will be lucky if you live very long. If you survive the Holy wars you are thrust into you will be praised for your valour and opportunities both romantic and financial will become available to you.

The "What Greek God Are You?" Test - You are Dionysis! You are most like the God Dionysis! Dionysis is the god of wine, intoxication and creative ecstasy. In short, a party god! He was often having drunken orgies with both men and women, as well as with helpless maidens his centaurs would carry off for him. he had a large following of women who had fallen into a frenzy or "mania". These women were taken by a madness that compelled them to run around in a craze and often times become violent. Many of these frenzied outbursts had a strong sexual content. Just don't forget while having all this fun that there is more to life than getting off!

The "What's Your Signature Weapon?" Test - The Desert Eagle. You preferred a weapon with 32% power over speed and 65% range over melee. One of the most powerful handguns in production, the Desert Eagle is a heavy punch in a small package. Its reliability and speed are remarkable for a gun with such high calibre. Your enemies won't stand a chance as you fell them bullet by bullet.

The 3-Variable Purity Test - PURITY: 86% sex, 80% substance, 70% moral [80% total]. Well done! The higher your scores, the more "pure" you are. The lower, the more you've experienced.

My Interests

Web design, gaming on my PS1/PS2/PC/GameCube/X-Box/Dreamcast/N64/Mega Drive (probably THE hobbie of mine. Without it I'd be bored as hell), watching films and TV shows (_), promoting aforementioned films and TV shows that my mates have yet to hear about, upgrading my computer, Mary Elizabeth Winstead (3), ripping on things that suck, video editing, writing scripts, walking around and wondering at what angle things would best be shot, playing online games with my mates (shout outs to Mitch, Ben, Mike B and Mike L!).

I'd like to meet:

Kiefer Sutherland. I'd get him to hold me at gunpoint, Jack Bauer-stylee, and Mary Elizabeth Winstead (main character from Final Destination 3). I have a strange obsession with her.

Music:

Queens of the Stone Age (Songs For The Deaf = best album ever), Guns N Roses, Metallica, Rage Against The Machine, The Smiths, The Smashing Pumpkins, Feeder, Nine Inch Nails (The Hand That Feeds you), Iron Maiden, Foo Fighters, Nirvana, Green Day, InMe, U2, Muse, Nickelback, The White Stripes, Placebo, REM, Staind, The Offspring, AC/DC, Adema, Aerosmith, Alkaline Trio, Harry Gregson Williams (Metal Gear Solid soundtracks FTW!), Andrew WK, Blink 182, Clint Mansell (Requiem For A Dream soundtrack), Cold, Creed, Disurbed, Don Davis (Matrix soundtracks), Drowning Pool, Duran Duran, Eminem (his earlier stuff, his newer commercial stuff's crap), Nobuo Uematsu (Final Fantasy soundtracks), HIM, Idlewild, Weezer, Jimmy Eat World, Korn, Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park (those two are a bit of a shame to admit _), Manic Street Preachers, Marilyn Manson, Masamichi Amano, Michael Jackson, Motorhead, New Order, Oasis, Papa Roach, P.O.D., Puddle of Mudd, Queen, Rammstein, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Saliva, Stereophonics, System of a Down, The Beatles, The Bloodhound Gang, The Clash, The Beastie Boys, The Dust Brothers (Fight Club soundtrack)

Movies:

Terminator 2 (Best. Film. Ever), Fight Club, Shaun of the Dead, The Matrix, American Beauty, American History X, Crash (2005, not the dodgy 1996 Cronenberg version), Batman Begins, Sin City, Battle Royale, Saw, Falling Down, Cube, The Godfather, The Shawshank Redemption, Pulp Fiction, Memento, Leon, The Terminator, Requiem For A Dream, Alien, Aliens, Reservoir Dogs, Kill Bill Volume 1, Kill Bill Volume 2, Saving Private Ryan, Donnie Darko, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Toy Story, Die Hard, Serenity, Groundhog Day, Dumb and Dumber, Dogma, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Clerks, Pirates of the Caribbean, Back To The Future trilogy

Television:

24 (the best show on Earth), Smallville, Lost (although it's annoying how much people talk about it - it's not THAT good, and the second season is pretty cack so far. 24's better), Firefly (why did they cancel it!? The best show that nobody knows about!), Futurama (why did they cancel it whilst The Simpsons continues with its shoddy 17th season?), The Simpsons (up to about Season 12 or 13, then it started going a bit sour), Family Guy, Nip/Tuck, Scrubs, Malcolm in the Middle, Six Feet Under, The Sopranos, Arrested Development, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Prison Break, Blackadder, Peep Show (it's not rude, trust me), Red Dwarf, Star Trek: The Next Generation (I can hear the "GEEK!" chants now), The Office, WWE RAW, WWE Smackdown, TNA Impact, Supernatural, Invasion, Extras, The Adventures of Pete and Pete (the best kids show of the 1990s and nobody I know other than my brother has ever seen it), The Shield, Friends, Dead Like Me, Threshold, Fawlty Towers, Hellsing, Crime Scene Investigation (Miami's alright aswell, but NY's rubbish), The Wire, Desperate Housewives (guilty pleasure _), Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Seinfeld, Twin Peaks. FILM REVIEW: Children of Men

A very good film. The imagery was brilliant - the war-torn England was incredibly convincing. There were a few brilliant scenes where the director used single takes rather than making the scene out of...
