I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

These little autobiographies are so awkward. I guess I find that I am a contradiction....to myself. I am usually perceived as being a completely different type of person than who I am. I have a good sense of humor--sometimes a little sarcastic and dry. I have mostly liberal views, but sometimes conservative, depending on the subject. I would say others describe me as artistic /creative, genuine, a good listener, and very patient. I am generally positive, laid-back and very drama free. I am passionate about the things in life that I enjoy doing. I am very close to my family; they're very important to me. I have a lot of friends, but keep only a few really close to my heart. I can be a loner, at times. I really enjoy solitude--at least a little a day if not more--to recharge. But I like my social time with friends too, of course.

My Interests

I am an artist, but currently my medium is makeup. My background is in painting and drawing, but I also do metalwork/jewelry, and have experimented with sculpure as well. I really want to learn airbrush painting next. I also love Fantasy Art and Surrealism, and obviously makeup artistry and special effects. I like live theater, movies, art galleries, museums, festivals--love the Renaissance Festival! I love going out to dinner and trying different cuisine. I am a car and motorcycle enthusiast, particularly sports cars (love Corvettes), vintage, and exotics, custom bikes, Indian and Harley, etc. Would love to take a performance driving course sometime. And maybe try fencing...

I'd like to meet:

Cool, laid-back, creative and intelligent people who share at least some of my main interests, and have a good sense of humor. One can never have too many friends. However, PLEASE MESSAGE ME A FEW TIMES before sending me a friend request! If I don't have the slightest idea who you are or what you're like, I am NOT inclined to consider you a friend! I am not here to add a plethora of bands to my list--I don't care about your music--don't waste my time and yours. I have been really polite in sending messages to all those strangers who just send me friend requests, yet don't seem to want to actually talk to me. BUT I AM DONE!!!! I WILL NOT ADD YOU IF YOU DON'T MESSAGE ME!! Chatting is kinda the point anyway, isn't it?

Music:

I listen mostly to 70's and 80's Rock/Metal and Pop, also Industrial, Electronica, Gothic bands.

Movies:

Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Horror, Action/Adventure, and Comedy. Occasionally Drama is good, when I am in the mood. I guess this means I like to escape from the real world...a lot. Some of my favs are: the Lord of the Rings trilogy, Harry Potter series, Back to the Future trilogy, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, From Hell, Rose Red, the Ring, Interview With a Vampire, Queen of the Damned, Dracula, Willow, the Mists of Avalon, Merlin, Van Helsing, Underworld, Silence of the Lambs, Kiss the Girls, Chicago, the Mummy, Indiana Jones series, City Slickers, X-men, Aliens trilogy, the Matrix, Stargate, Star Trek (all), The Lost Boys, the Hunger, Jurassic Park, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Ice Age...many more...

Television:

I don't watch a lof of TV. I like NCIS (a lot of people tell me I look like Abby--the gothic lab tech. Maybe...yeah.), Hauntings, Supernatural, and several old re-runs like the X-Files, Dark Angel, Zena, Star Trek (all), Twin Peaks, and some really obscure ones like Roar, American Gothic, Kindred--the Embraced, and some older British Comedies. I am a huge fan of Are You Being Served?, and Are You Being Served, Again? ( the subsequent series), Waiting for God, Fawlty Towers, Mr. Bean, and Jeeves and Wooster.

Books:

Reading is something I do daily. I cannot imagine anyone not liking to read. I mostly read Fantasy, Horror, Romance (alhtough I may deny it), Sci-Fi sometimes, and Pagan/estoeric/metaphysical books. Sometimes comic/travel stories like Bill Bryson (love his humor), and I am really into vampire lore. I like Anne Rice, Tanith Lee, Jeanne Kalogridis, Laurel K. Hamilton, to name a few. For some classics: H.G. Wells, John Steinbeck, Ray Bradbury...

Heroes:

My family first of all, but also if this means people I admire enough to want to meet, dead or alive......well, Salvador Dali, Rene' Magritte, Da Vinci, Michaelangelo, Raphael, Ingres, John Singer Sargent, Susan Seddon Boulet, Brom, Michael Whelan, John Steinbeck, Stevie Nicks, Marilyn Monroe, Bettie Page, to name a few.
