It used to say 'No kids, pets etc. (love them from afar)' but Christy's sneaky play on Todd's compasion by having us 'foster' a puppy resulted in us now owning a dog. As for kids, we're still members of the 'No Kidding' organization. Todd is an avid fire performer by night and nerd by day...Christy spends most of her free time playing soccer but has finally given in to joining the fire group (if you can't beat em, join 'em)...and by the way she's also a nerd by day (arguably by night too). We love the same things most people do...the beach, partying, then sleeping in on weekends, getting up and having a real life on weekdays (the kind that means being grown up and responsible). Travel, art, photography, hiking, camping, soccer, v-ball, cooking, wacky parties and gatherings, being with friends, meeting great new ones, raves & music and everything that goes along with them, Burning Man and all of the amazing people who understand...
Always love to meet people who have the same ideas about life as we do...burners, ravers, fire performers, belly dancers, hula hoopers, intellects, motivators and happy (dammit), positive people. NO time for people who are closed minded, judgmental or who have no vision for living an extraordinary life.
Most all electronic - trance, DnB, psytrance, happy hardcore (that's right I said HH). Old school 70s and 80s, ghetto-redneck gritty bluegrass with the occasional classical stuff. NO Country allowed!...sorry cowboys. Great Big Sea is my FAVORITE band...you heard me...let's not forget we have a Canadian in the family.
There are a so many of profound and remarkable movies but the movies we watch so often the DVDs get worn out are 5th Element, Raising Arizona, The Inredibles, Zoolander, Dangerous Beauty, Priscilla, Finding Nemo, Monsters Inc., The Gods Must Be Crazy, Sin City, Kamasutra, Shrek, Dogma, Underworld.
The Venture Brothers, Southpark, Family Guy, American Dad, Reno 911 (but that doesn't change our hatred for Nevada), mostly animated characters since they're far more entertaining than the Hollywood ones.
Todd's favorites: Brain Greene's 'The Fabric of the Cosmos' and Leon Lederman's 'The God Particle' for physics; V.S. Ramachandran's 'Phantoms In The Brain', Oliver Sacks's 'The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat' and 'Seeing Voices' for neuropsych; Steinbeck's 'Grapes of Wrath' for historical fiction; Margeret Weis & Tracy Hickman's Death Gate Cycle for fantasy; Wilbur Smith's 'River God' for fiction; Collier & Manley's 'How to Read Ancient Hieroglyphs'; and Krakauer's "Into Thin Air' Christy doesn't read (I guess)
Orgazmo and Chodaboy, of course.
