About Me

(the) fundamentalists-a gay and lesbian electro dance/rock trio from Detroit, MI who’s sound has been described as “uplifting, world weary, bludgeoning and ethereal; in short both the silver lining AND the dark cloud around it”.The music is a blend of dichotomies, at times body moving dance music with thunderous guitar and introspective or politically charged lyrics; at other times sparse rhythm pared with keyboard and guitarscapes that wrap the listener in an amorphous cloud that refuses to leave the mind long after the last note has been played.Chris Taylor (Vocals/Guitar/Keyboards/Bass) & his partner Jim Marker (Vocals/Keyboards) along with Michele Stapleton (Vocals/Guitars) comprise the band which is an outlet for their original GLBT-oriented music.
