Time to sit up and take notice. Glasgow now has a band who’s sound and energy consistently engages audiences.Their distinctive sound and intense performance of stripped back drum beats, direct bass lines, hypnotic guitars and thought provoking lyrics make it an experience to be remembered. After their recent headline slot at The Next Big Thing event in The Carling Academy April 2008. XFM DJ - Jim Gellatly, described the music as containing elements of the Fall, Kasabian and Gang Of Four.Since the band’s first independent release, Your Opinion My Opinion (EP), The Statler Project’s music has been received with acclaim. The Deep Space remix of the title track was tipped by the Skinny magazine as one to win over the clubbers, suggesting they may even become a bona fide crossover act before long. The band have performed a number of memorable gigs, Including a high octane performance at this years Live At Loch Lomond Festival. Following this performance the promoters have now confirmed the band to play the main stage in 2009.With an Autumn / Winter tour in the pipeline and further releases to happen this year, The Statler Project’s popularity grows all the time. The honest hardworking music and performance of this band shows great promise for the future. E.P. now available to download from ..WE ARE THE STATLER PROJECT.
