About Me

Some quiz thing I took told me I'm : messy, disorganized, not rule conscious, rebellious, rash, weird, ambivalent about chaos, likes bizarre things, anti-authority, not good at saving money, not a perfectionist, leaves many things unfinished, low self control, strange, desires more attention, romantic daydreamer, abstract, impractical, unproductive, leisurely, likes the unknown

I'm Holly. If you play WoW on Khadgar, you may know me as Karuna or Airmid, or as Blackguard's A-#1 Cheerleader, Hollybot. Word.
I refuse to repost E-petitions . And I love Snopes.

My Interests

Hi, I'm Holly, and I'm a geek. In my case, this means I can fix, but not build, my own computer, and can probably kick your ass in a game of Soul Calibur II or chess. I have a variety of dice - Yes, for geeky purposes, no I haven't used them in a while. I play rhythm games, but mostly just Pump It Up!, and mostly not so successfully anymore. I enjoy a good philosophical conversation, and can cook. (I do not think cooking is geeky, though.) I think Alton Brown is the best thing to happen to the Food Network, and that smart men are hot. I probably can't stand on my head.

I'd like to meet:

A zombie killing musician boyfriend that can beat me in Street Fighter. Anais Nin and Bill Hicks.
If I don't know you, there's very little chance I'll friend you. Just a heads up.

Music:

The playlist changes a lot. It is less a representation of my favorite music and more a representation of what I want to listen to at work.

Movies:

Zombie movies (yeah, even the bad ones). Star Wars (yeah, even the bad ones). Anything Robert Rodriguez touches. Anything John Cusack touched in the 80s. Edgar Wright's small but amazing catalog of works (I love you, Mr. Wright.) Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Really, there's a lot more, but...

Television:

Well... Rescue Me. It really is that fucking good.
Other than that, Adult Swim has some fantastic stuff, and I love Spaced, Little Britain, Black Books... BBC stuff. Oh and cooking shows... Arrested Development... The IT Crowd...

Books:

I love James Joyce, Anais Nin, George RR Martin, and comic books.

Heroes:

Audrey Hepburn. Anais Nin. Bill Hicks. Haruhi Suzumiya. My aunt Angel, for not being what they expected, but being much, much more. And most of all, above all people in the world, my mother.

My Blog

second blog, scattered comment.

Talked to Steve, former roommate and soon to be roommate, and remembered how much I love one of my nicknames, which only a few people use in reference to me, usually people I've dated.  Eliot kin...
