About Me

Maybe it's time to redo my Profile. I did so earlier and in the process of editing it (to correct a stupid punctuation mistake) it went flying away never to be located again....so now I have nothing to do but say....."maybe it wasn't meant to be posted" and all my friends are just going to have to wait and see if I ever redefine my "work in progress" in the task of bareing my soul on cyberspace. Oh well.....as my favorite mentor Maxine would say.....get over it and MOVE ON

My Interests

I love to browse antique shops and search for oil lamps which I collect.

I'd like to meet:

I draw a big blank here...Maybe a therapist named Leo????? :-)

Music:

Classical, Jazz, New Age, and selective Country (i.e. Faith Hill, Eddie Arnold and Roger Miller when I want to make myself sad) If I really want to torture myself, I'll listen to rock & roll and even admit that I enjoy The Eagles, Cranberries, Credence Clearwater, Bare Naked Ladies and Sting. I hate rap (the originators should be hunted down and made to listen to 24 hours of classical music) Hip-Hop is about the same in my book. Music inspires me too. I prefer piano but James Galway's flute is my fav. I tend to stay with my favorite artists and collect all their albums.

Movies:

I like a good western (which they don't seem to make anymore) Romantic comedies and murder thrillers....that's about it. I enjoy watching the 'oldies' with Bette Davis, Kathryn Hepburn, Humphrey Bogart....all the oldies but goodies.

Television:

Not since the days of DALLAS and KNOTS LANDING have I been 'hooked' on tv. I'll watch Everybody Loves Raymond, Two and a Half Guys and recently started watching Sex and the City....but television isn't very creative these days.

Books:

I should just copy and paste Mary's entry here.....she and I have the same passion for books and usually trade books. I try new authors but if they fall short of John Sandford, James Patterson or John Grisham, I'll usually put it aside. A book has to grab my interest within two chapters or I'm gone. That's why I love Stephen King....he grabs you by the throat in the first 5 minutes. I enjoy biographies.

Heroes:

My husband, Fred. Without a doubt he's earned this honor. He waited for 19 years for me to get the courage to get married again.

My Blog

Arm Wrestling the medical industry

The day is half over and I'm just frazzled by all the bbs I've plowed thru since 8 a.m. today. (for all of you that wonder:  bbs = bureaucratic bullshit) But I'm getting ahead of the story. ...

Tightening the belt

If you've never heard this expression....then "good for you"!! If you have and know the realities of what it entails, you're probably in my age group or your parents taught you the lessons of frugali...

No-Brainer

I like to think that in the 73 years I've been rattling around on this planet, I've learned to pretty much know myself...you know, what makes a person 'tick' usually emerges after years of living. and...

Reflecting

What comes to mind is an old saying "woulda, coulda, shoulda".  I think it would be appropriate to say my reflections spout forth "wouldn'ta, didn'ta, can'ta" or something along those lines.

A great read

I knew the day would come that I'd pick up a new Stephen King book and it would grab me by the throat and I'd not be able to put it down. I'd almost resigned myself to the idea that his writing was...

Dust Bunnies

Forget the 'bunnies'....mine are fully-grown-Texas-long-eared Jackrabbits! I should have recognized yesterday's spurt of energy for what it was...a prelude to my dusting feddish that kicks in when I...

Safety in colors

I know the usual saying is "numbers" but in this house....it's color that is all important.  Today I decided to bite the bullet and clean my room....specifically the floor.  After a lot of p...

Back to my roots

I learned years ago that you 'can't go back....but that doesn't apply to visiting.  Visiting family, old highschool stomping grounds, old classmates (did I say 'old'....sorry).  I drove old ...
