About Me

RIP
Steve Berman, a Christian, a husband, a father, and a former Vietnam veteran who passed away last week. I know you're in peace, because you're resting in His hands.
..
I LOVE MUSIC!
One of my profile songs is performed by a girl at Ty's school named Courtney. She writes & performs her own music, so take a listen to some of her other songs. If you like them, buy her CD & support a struggling new artist.
I LOVE GOD!
If you're a teenager and YOU love God...or you're not really sure about the whole *God thing* and just want to check out a youth group, try the one at Echo Mountain Church! It's open to 6th - 12th grade students. You're welcome to bring friends!
We meet TUESDAYS from 6:00 to 7:30... so it won't be getting out late and will leave time for you to do other stuff when it's over. We have two new youth group interns, Rachel & Alex, who are college students from Southwestern. Come and check it out!
BE SURE TO ADD THE NEW, OFFICIAL "ECHO MOUNTAIN CHURCH YOUTH GROUP" to your myspace... it's 4th in my friend's section, below. GOD ROCKS AT ECHO MOUNTAIN! COME AND ROCK WITH US!
ADDRESS: 19051 N. 20th St., just north of Union Hills (near North Canyon High School... 20th St. dead ends into our church parking lot!

"Going to church doesn't make you a Christian any more than standing in a garage makes you a car."
"If you're 18 to 20-something, come and check out the new Young Adult Group at Echo! You don't have to go to church or "do the church thing" to get something out of this. It's just a friendly, safe place to talk about stuff that you're going through right now...with other people your age (or a bit younger or a bit older) who might just be experiencing the same thing...or did at one time. Get a different perspective... maybe make a new friend... and once in a while, go out and do something fun.
They recently went Xtreme Bowling with the youth group and it was a BLAST!
They meet on Wednesdays at 7:00 pm at Echo Mountain Church: 19051 N. 20th St. (N. of Union Hills).
Tyler's first band, performing the Transiberian Orchestra version of "Carol of the Bells". Make sure to pause my profile song (pause key is next to the box with the song title) before you listen or both songs will play at the same time. BAND, from left to right: Joe (guitar), Casey (guitar), Ryan (keyboards), Mark (drums), Tyler (bass), Zach (guitar).

To check out more of their music video clips, CLICK HERE to go to www.youtube.com. You don't have to join youtube to listen - just type MIZZMOMM in the search box (at the top of the youtube page) and it will take you directly to their videos!
Alas, all good things come to an end, and Tyler's band has done just that. But, it was great experience for him to play shows at the age of 14 and he's busy forming new music ties so he'll be back with another band soon, I'm sure.

Our family is one HUGE St. Louis Rams fan and we watch every game with other fans. Yes, even now, as we look at another dismal, losing season (0-4 so far). Still, we're dedicated fans... I personally have been one for 30 years now. Our RAMS website is: http://members.cox.net/phxramsfans

Most of my albums and concert tickets were purchased at a head shop in North Hollywood called Auditory Odyssey. My friends and I discovered it around 1971 (I was 15) and we hung out there a lot! Craig ran the store - he was this cool, cute, hippy (Libra) in his early 20s who drove a cool VW bus (bed, beads and all) and sometimes he'd give us a ride home when he closed the store if we didn't have a ride. I had a mad crush on him LOL The store sold music, incense, posters, and had a waterbed (surrounded by love beads) making it one of our favorite spots to hang out.

Television:

Yeah, with my 62" TV & DVR I guess you could call me an addict with a habit: Criminal Minds, Damages, The Closer, Medium, American Idol, Desperate Housewives, House, In Plain Sight, Shark, The Unit, 24, ER, Life, The Cleaner (Billy Mumy's teen daughter Liliana is adorable in it!), The Shield, The Soup. RIP to Jerico.....and David Letterman can go jump off the Brooklyn Bridge LOL

Books:

I have over 1000 books and read every night - so naming favorites would be difficult as I like a lot of different authors. My favorite right now: "The Glass Castle". Simply amazing. Books don't get much better than this. Anyone who thinks they had a lousy childhood should read this book...gain some perspective...and laugh between wincing. It's like a sweet & sour sauce LOL

Heroes:

Long ago, when Cherokee boys were on the verge of becoming men, the elders would tell them this story: "My son, the battle is between two 'wolves' inside us all. One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego. The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith." When the boy would ask the obvious question, "Which wolf wins?" the elder would simply reply, "The one you feed".
