MADE "SELF MADESELF is here to take over the world" Plain and simple, there it is. After years of trial and error with different members, names and set lists Bassist Anderson and Drummer Matt "Loc" Knowles reunite with childhood friend Adam Youngs (Lead Vocals). Anderson, Youngs and Loc performed for years together during thier high school years in (Upstate, NY groundbreaking cover band) "Gerry's Kids". JC Holleran, who played with Loc and Anderson in the widely popular "Sewn Mouth Secret" handles Guitar duties in this new group with his monster guitar tone and inovative chord inflections. "This is finally it!" says Loc. "It takes along time to find the right people. Anderson and I have played in groups before that we would have been happy to play with forever. The fact is though, that over time people decide they don't want the same things anymore and they aren't willing to put in the time and work it takes to do this for real. JC came into the fold during our SEWN MOUTH SECRET days and we knew he was in it for the long hall." After Sewn Mouth Secret decided to become strictly a studio band (A full length album is in the works featuring original singer Brad Conaway) The search was on for Anderson, Loc, and Holleran to find a vocalist to fill out this new project. "..But he had to be THE RIGHT guy.." Loc continues. "There's a bunch of guys who are great singers who only consider music a hobby. That's great for them but it doesn't work for us. Then there are a bunch of guys who want to 'Make it bro!!' but don't realize the work that's involved so they don't last. Then you've got guys who think they can sing but really can't or if they can they have an attitude. After you weed out all those guys you get pretty frustrated." Then came the band meeting that the three are almost embarassed to talk about. "The three of us had just got done laying down tracks for some of the new stuff and we all agreed it is the best stuff we've ever written. So we're beatin' our self up goin' 'Who's gonna sing this stuff?!?!' So, as lame as it sounds, we decided to all scroll through the numbers in our cell phones to see if there was anyone we could call that might know someone. THE FIRST NUMBER in Andersons phone was ADAM!!" Loc and Anderson proceeded to fill JC in on this guys. Telling him that he was a guy they used to play with that was really good that used to only want to sing and make music. Hollerans response?.."Well call him stupid!!". Loc concludes, "After we got ahold of Adam we found out he lives less than a mile from my house! He came over one night and listened to the new tunes. We had a big talk about goals, work ethic and priorities. The guy was right on the same page as us. He wants to make music that he loves and wants as much of the world as possible to hear it. Most importantly he realized that any success WOULD NOT come without a lot of hard work. So that was half the battle. He 'Got It'. We already knew we could get along with him so all that was left was to see how he sounded. The next night we went up to the studio, threw him in the booth and let him freestyle some ideas to a couple of the songs we had written. We knew he could sing but DAMN! This guys voice had matured and he has a very powerful, lead-singer type sound. Plus he was coming up with great melody ideas one right after the other. That was it, He was the guy." Adam was the guy and he, along with Anderson, Loc and JC are THE band......SELF MADE SELF This is a new site for a NEW Band!! It's obviously under construction so check back OFTEN!!!
