Originally from Chicago, Pete Pagonis grew up playing drums in rock bands. Raised on a big dose of the Beatles, Led Zeppelin and Frank Sinatra formed Pete's early influences. Relocating to California Pagonis continued playing in bands as a drummer. After a long stint with the local band mrs. god, Pete played with former eels bass player Tommy Walter in both Tely and Metromax. After a tour fell through playing drums for Brendan Benson of the Racontours. Pete started to reassess. Now on his own Pagonis is putting out music as the Soft Patches. The mix of odd time signatures and simple melodies are both attributed to his drumming backround and love of "simple lines intertwining" to quote Nigel.Dreamy, lush and sometimes meloncholic are all words that have been used to describe the Soft Patches. I'm just trying to find as much of my own musical voice as possible. Everyone sounds like someone to some extent. No plans to tour as of yet. But plenty of recording continues to happen..
