Silent but deadly

About Me

As a child, I lived in the very exotic small-town locations of Vermilion, Ohio; Midland, Michigan; and Martinez, Georgia, but I dreamed of seeing the world. When I finished high school, I moved away from home to begin college and since then, I've had trouble sitting still. During college, I lived with a family in Cuernavaca, Mexico for 3 months while I studied Spanish. I later lived atop a volcano on the island of Hawaii for 4 months as an intern for the USGS, studying bugs. I also lived in a tent in a rainforest in Madagascar for 3 months while I conducted my first study of wild primates in grad school (lemurs, in this case). I've lived a total of 12 months in a small cabin in the middle of the jungle on a tiny Island in Indonesia and will spend another 10 months there while I study wild monkeys for my Ph.D.
Some random factoids: I put copious quantities of hot sauce on everything. I don't shower every day but I dream every night. I think about quitting school to become a dancer. I want to die doing something I love.

My Interests

watching monkeys, pondering evolution, listening to political analysis on WNYC (Brian Lehrer show), shaking my groove thang, exploring new lands, learning new languages, eating exotic (and spicy!) dishes, hanging with friends, drinking excessive amounts of coffee, exploring NYC, making out, tasting wines
