JAMES BROWN IS A YOUNG MAN WHO WILL LIVE 4-EVA

About Me

I am a bassist, singer, producer, funkateer extraordnaire from Frisco, age 35. Back in the day I did a thang called the Skull Funk Tribe but now....I am a solo artist but also a band member.I am a member of STYMIE and the PIMP JONES LOVE ORCHESTRA. My next performance with the band is Saturday, May 3rd, at the ROCKIT ROOM in San Francisco. The fabulous LONDON STREET is opening for us. After that, I know we have a bunch of shows this summer, including some stints at Mojitos, a perfomance at THE MATEEL ARTS FESTIVAL IN HUMBODLT on JUNE 1st, as well as a JULY 4th gigo in RENO.I'm mixing my album, called A Wiggle in Time, with Steve K from the Funkanauts behind the board; the album also features Kofy Brown and members of Stymie and the Funkanauts. Tryin to finish as fast as possible for the summer. I am also recording trax for another release called Kownt Chokula's Revenge.Oh yeah - I work as a freelance writer/editor, as I just graduated from UC Berkeley with a BA in English this past May 2007. I also make $$$$ teaching at a local prep school, and have been commisioned to write a biography about a local Silicon Valley mogul who is bipolar. I will be working on the latter project until '09.

I'd like to meet:

So far, hella long-lost contacts have found me on here so that's pretty dope. Aside from that, this is just a musician's contact. I intend to do a proper music page eventually - with trax and vids and whatnot - but since everything is going so well for me on that front regardless, I am in no major rush. The internet doesn't blow up music careers as much as peeps believe anyhow, so no need to get too deep into this aspect. Gotta get out there PHYSICALLY, as well as finish projects that you start no matter how difficult things seem in the interim.
