"Based in Stockport, near Manchester, Sunday International are the product of a drunken conversation sometime in 2000. Some years and a couple of personnel changes later, and what started as friends pissing around is now, well, friends pissing around... but more interesting to listen to. Having previously released a track on Twisted Nerve's "Now Is The Winter..." compilation, they released their debut single "So Calm" on Future Butterfly Records in 2006.Disjointed and gloriously lo-fi, they prefer to use tiny practice amps, a child's megaphone and a rattling old bass drum than more conventional instrumentation. With a multi-cultural combination of band members, diversity in sound is expected and hoped for, and Sunday International take this principle to its extremes. Maybe its the mix of Germanic and Yorkshire influences, but this lot avoid categorisation. The band deliberately avoids a homogenous distinct sound for their output, and thats not necessarily a bad thing. What you get is a group of fluctuating components that veers from the quirky to the full on kitchen sink approach. And does the band care? Not in the slightest."
