LARK FORMED IN 2003 ON THE BACK OF 14 SONGS RECORDED ON A TWO TRACK BY ARTIST KARL BIELIK, THEY HAVE SINCE BECOME A SIX PIECE MADE UP OF ARTISTS, PHOTOGRAPHERS AND MUSICIANS PLUS A VARIETY OF GUEST PERFORMERS. USING A TRADITIONAL ROCK FORMAT INTERLACED WITH 2ND HAND CASIO KEYBOARDS, MEGAPHONE VOCALS AND MELODICAS, LARK CAN BE FLIPPANT AND HARSH, HEARTFELT AND POIGNANT, WITH A PUNK ETHIC RUNNNING THROUGH THEIR WORK. INFLUENCED BY TOM WAITS, THE CRAMPS, THE FALL AND THE DIRTY THREE, LARK HAVE AN ECLECTIC BUNCH OF SONGS WHICH THEY REHEARSE AND RECORD AT TERRACE GALLERY IN EAST LONDON, WHICH THEY ALSO CO-RUN. LARK ARE SIGNED TO 'CARE IN THE COMMUNITY RECORDINGS' AND ARE IN THE PROCESS OF RELEASING A SERIES OF FOUR 7" VINYL SINGLES WITH THEM, THE FIRST OF WHICH 'THE ANIMAL'S CLAW', WAS ROUGH TRADE'S SINGLE OF THE WEEK. THEIR 1ST 12" VINYL ALBUM WILL BE AVAILABLE IN SEPTEMBER 2008. THEY HAVE ALSO SELF RELEASED 2 CD EP'S, DONE SESSIONS FOR RESONANCE FM, APPEARED ON STAGE FRIGHT ALBUM, HAD THEIR MUSIC USED IN TWO SHORT FILMS AND FEATURED ON THE COVER OF MIXMAG. THEY HAVE BEEN CHAMPIONED BY EROL ALKAN, ROB DA BANK, STAURT MACONIE, SEAN ROWLEY, BRENDAN LYNCH, THE BEES AND MOST RECENTLY GREEN GARTSIDE, WHO IS CURRENTLY REMIXING THEIR FOURTH SINGLE ‘WET DREAM’ MyGen Profile Generator . .'TARDIS' FILM BY OLIVER CROWTHER MUSIC BY LARK . . . .. .
