About Me

I started to mess on turntables in around 84/85 with really shitty BSR decks that had no varispeed and ac motors, the kind that had a massive spindle that you stacked records on, we used to saw it down! (we fucked a few records) listening to jazzy jeff in 86 was the point i knew i would be doing this for life! jeff is still the man! (well to me anyhow) then after buying several hi fi decks (anything that looked like an SL!) i bought some technics in 87 and the rest as they say..... In my lifetime i have appeared as guest scratcher on tracks by supercharger, my man evil ed (super duper dope producer!), quantic, aspects, la cedille and various others. now i produce under the names Eddie Skratch, Random Heroes and Boys from the Hudd (kava kava`s bank job remix)
Here`s some reviews from various DJ`s, Record Stores etc for the latest heroes single "roll call / days of old" which is also receiving support from boca 45, flevans, andy smith, adrian gibson, dr rubberfunk, diesler and more!!!

Phonica Records

Breaks, breaks and more breaks are the order of the day here on this jam-packed b-boy friendly party tackle. Featuring a gravel voiced aural eulogy to the power of the drums, "Roll Call" adds a killer rolling bassline, disco percussion and a full on stereo breakdown. More heavy breaks occur blending hammond organ lines and a cracking military drum section complete with cut up army chants! More of the same on the flip as we find some rock guitar licks, bubbling bass and deft trickanology.

Jelly Jazz

Funky breaks, silly vocal samples, deep bassline, solid arrangement, great cut & paste dancefloor goodness. It's as simple as that and we like it!

Fat City

Good time sample heavy funk from Random Heroes, previously of Freestyle Records.Random Heroes deliver another solid funk 45 splicing Hip-Hop samples, impressive scratching and J5 / Shadow style vocal snippets. Wont change the world but will certainly rock a party!

Dusty Groove America

A highly mixed up array of breaks, samples, and spoken bits -- done in a back to basics mode that's somewhere between the late 80s work of Steinski and Norman Cook! As with work by both of those artists, there's a good sense of humor going on here -- one that uses the older spoken bits as little jokes through the record -- but with enough of a groove to show careful timing of their inclusion! "Days Of Old" is a bit slower, heavier, and hipper -- with some great guitar and keyboard samples dropped over nicely breaking drums!

Jazzman Records

Intriguing cut & paste drum-based mix with amusing interplay between oh-so-square '50s radio style announcers and their amazing stereo demonstration records. Done rather well I think with good crescendos & breakdowns.

Aldo Vanucci

"the heroes return with a cut and paste monster. "Cmon get it" was a wicked introduction and now they have stepped up their game. You can feel the love and hours of editing that have gone into this tight little 7". Only problem will be how do they top this next time." 9 / 10
