About Me

RED INK:A band called "Failing Forward" got together in May 2005, and was originaly a six piece Christian cover band. With Tabitha on vocals, John on bass, Ron (from "Station Break") on Rhythm guitar, Matt and then Quin (also from Station Break) on lead guitar, Phil on auxiliary instruments, and Tim on drums. They had their first gig at the Mustardseed Cafe in West Jefferson, OH in June of '05 and shortly there after began to change members. Over the months we have filtered down to a power-quartet with Tabitha on lead vocals/rhythm guitar, Shawn on lead guitar, Greg on drums and John on bass. Now came time for a new name. Something that would be easier to remember and understand than "Failing Forward". We settled on "Red Ink" which is simple and straight-forward, referencing the red letters in the Bible, which are the direct quotations of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Each of the members are also very musically active outside the band. Tabitha also sings for "Station Break" (Blues band), and with "Heartwood and Friends" (Folk), as well as directs choir at Old Stone Presbyterian Church in Delaware, OH. Shawn also plays Lead Guitar for "Spindlers Dream" (Alternative Rock). John and Greg both play in their church praise bands. By the way, all of the songs playing on this page are rough, live recordings from practices or shows...we expect to have professionally edited demo songs by Feb 2006.The mission of Red Ink is to rock-it-out, for the cause of Christ. We write original music based on the simple message that no matter where you are in life, or what you've done, you are not outside the grace of God. We hope you can join us at our shows, which we will post regularly.God Bless, Red Ink

Second Studio Day and Finished Product

The second studio day was mostly me.  Shawn recorded one solo, and John did some vocals, and Greg was done on the first day, so that left me to do most of my vocals and harmonies.  I got the...

Runaway

Runaway is a song I wrote about a friend of mine who decided to run away from the things he couldn't deal with in his life.  The thing is, you can never run away from yourself or from God.  ...
