"Music is freedom"

About Me

Native to Savannah, GA, Fuzz Jaxxon became fascinated by music at an early age. While radio airplay opened Fuzz to bands like Van Halen, KISS, & Def Leopard, his musical influences are based on hip-hop, soul and funk. In 1984, only 10 years old, Fuzz Jax witnessed his first concert, Run DMC; marking his initial desire to be an emcee.
Captivated by the talent of Afrika Bambaataa, Ohio Players & Prince, Fuzz also found a passion for skateboarding; this is how he and producer Calico became friends. Following high school graduating in ’92, the two formed a 5 piece hip-hop rooted band, consisting of 3 emcees, 2 guitars and drums. Several live performances later, they found that there was a huge following forming in Wilmington, NC; this ignited the decision to relocate to the east coast.
The band wouldn’t last due to the move, but this didn’t stop Fuzz or Calico from their musical dreams. Ten years later, the two joined forces again in 2002, creating what would become a local sensation with the Organix. The make up of the group comprised of guitar, bass, drums, sax, keyboard, DJ and two emcees. A couple of years later in 2004, after meeting one of the members of Organix, McClain Sullivan was asked to sing along with them on stage, little did they know, adding a female vocalist would start what seemed like an new era for the group. Fuzz Jax, along with Organix, stayed head strong to continue to create a buzz, but unfortunately in 2005 the group broke up, due to several members moving away. Ironically, this gave Fuzz lots of free time that he used wisely. Joining onto the WARP Tour in the summer of ’05, he participated in 9 west coast dates.
"Together Again", Fuxx Jax and McClain Sullivan formed a new group called Fuzz & Mac in the beginning of 2007. With Calico on beats, along with The Distinguished Gents, also from Wilmington, NC, it’s like a breath of fresh air, as they bring out the best in each other. Their first show, opening for the Roots, left a sold out House of Blues spellbound.
Their first EP, appropriately titled "Together Again", was first made available in March 2007. Presently working on their full length LP, there is a lot more to come from this down to earth rapper, Stay Tuned.
