About Me

"Hey, Jason----I FINALLY listened to the cd you gave me 6 months ago....sorry it took so long! So, here's my opinion........first off, I absolutely, positively LOVE the music! You guys sound really tight, and the music is nice and full and "fat" sounding. The first track is great---super catchy, and has a great groove. Song #2 has a bit too much "White Stripes" feel to it for me, and I'm not digging the "spoken-word" type vocals.....I like my vocals to be more "smooth" ( let me say first off that I hate bands like the White Stripes.......)Tracks #3 and#4 #6 and #8, I liked, but didn't like the vocals----really thought the vocals were too "choppy", then I heard the other versions later on the cd, and thought it sounded waaaay better. Tracks 12 through 15---I assume they were recorded later? Or mixed differently? Or something? Well, anyway, they sound GREAT! The vocal issues I had are all taken care of. I love song #5 a lot----the moodiness of it---great vibe---I could listen to this over and over again.....BUT, I don't like the vocals at all. Really don't like them. I'd just edit the vocals out, and leave this one an instrumental. I'm so mesmerized by the song, that I don't want to hear vocals( you have to realize that I listen to mostly instrumental bands----Pelican/Isis/ Mouth of the Architect, etc--they don't have a lot of vocals.....). Truly #5 is a stellar piece of art----can't say enough about how the music rules! Track #7 is pretty trippy----I like it----vocals are cool, song is cool---"screamy" part is a nice change......Tracks #9 and #10, I didn't like at all. Sorry. Not really digging the music or the vocals :( Listened quite a few times, and they still didn't "grow" on me..... Track #11 is really cool, although somehow it reminds me of the "Night Rider" theme song :) Not really, but a little :) I dig this song, though. So, anyway, overall, it's really cool! Right on! Great job! It appears you guys have a good thing going on. I'm not really into your singer, but that's just me........ Let me know when you're playing next, so I can check it out live........-Brenda Smith
