... everything Bukowski..."The Great Gatsby" by F. Scott (not hard to do driving from Montreal to Boston,or was it Toronto to Montreal...me no know)...also, read "Old Man and the Sea" by Hemingway, on the drive from Pittsburgh to Bloomington...read "Run With The Hunted (A Charles Bukowski Reader) on the way back west...then i read "Dreams From Bunker Hill" by John Fante...go buy John Fante's "Ask the Dust"...finished two good books about the influence of So Cal on pop music in the 60's and 70's, and both were worth reading: "Hotel California" and "Laurel Canyon"... o.k.,it's mid October 2006 and I'm reading "The Autobiography of Johnny Cash"...last book of 06 was "Notes of a Dirty Old Man", Bukowski...J.D. Salinger is a fave, Joyce's "Dubliners"... check out Robinson Jeffers poetry...W.B. Yeats of course, and Seamus Heaney's "Seeing Things"...Dan Fante's,"Short Dog";good,lacks depth of John Fante's work..."Straight Whiskey",great book on the history of the Whiskey A Go Go, Roxy, and Rainbow Bar and Grill...April 07, "Pomes All Sizes", Kerouac, a must..."Running with Scissors", a very interesting read..."Raise High The Roof Beam and Seymour an introduction", Salinger, good but not his best...January 08,finished the Bible, finally,and..."Full of Life", John Fante, very good...
