"Two talented kids, living a musician's ultimate dream... dedicating the days to writing and rehearsing and performing at night." "Playing classic rock laced with pop, blues, funk and reggae, this duo knows how to rock the house. Their sound may be acoustic, but their energy is electric."~Article by Jan Randler: editor for the WORKMAGAZINE Music, Restaurants, Clubs department. *********************************************************** Our Richmond Buzz interview! Finding people who share the same passion, talent and dedication can take years, but for the members of OminOtagO, the journey to complementary counterparts was quick."-Angie Castlebury of The Richmond Times Dispatch (Jan.5th, 2006)******************************************************* **** OminOtagO: Beau Powell & Chelsea Kerwath *Beau & I met on August 10th, back in 2003, and we've been inseparable ever since. From playing shows to just playing with our hound dog, it's rare that we're apart. We both started playing guitar at 14. Beau grew up with his grandparents and was exposed to lots of big band music and Motown, which he still enjoys today (though I must state that his favorite band of all time is definitely The Counting Crows). Anywhos! Beau's voice is so versatile. He hits notes that I can only dream of nailing! Sometimes he sounds so delicate and soulful and mellow, then suddenly he'll rock you with a roaringly good rendition of "No Sugar". He gets our crowds dancing by the end of the night- it's so cool! But anyway- like I was saying before- we both started playing at 14. My childhood was very different from Beau's, but we both ended up with the just about the same taste in music. My folks listened to a pretty wide variety- ranging from The Beatles to David Bowie, Bob Marley to Peter Gabriel, and more. I liked a lot of current music as well and tried to blend both into my sound. In 2004, we finished our first full-length acoustic album, entitled "White Buffalo". The majority of the album was recorded by us in Beau's dad's garage. For being a quick home job- the disc came out quite good. The following year, Stu entered the picture and we recorded a rock demo which is available at www.ominotago.com. Now Stu and our new bassist, Matty are helping us record our 2nd full-length album! We'll keep you updated on our progress... Thanks for checking out our Myspace! Feel free to watch our music video, read our "ominoBLOGo", or leave a message. You know you want to... ---Chelsea---

Band Members: We are now a quartet for full band shows! Beau Powell - vocals, guitar, bass, hand drums "...Powell's voice is smooth and soulful. His vocals are emotive and stirring, at times velvety with a little umph. Just when you think you've pegged his multifaceted sound, you haven't." Chelsea Kerwath - vocals, guitar, hand drums, keys "Kerwath touches each note tenaciously, with ribbons of femininity curling around Powell's words, sometimes following, occasionally leading, but always flowing." -Jan Randler of WORKMAGAZINE plus Stu Hutton on percussion & introducing Matty Volkes on bass!
