About Me

Mr Bristow has been DJ-ing for over 9 years, has a 2:1 Bsc hons degree in Music Technology, and plays a range of music including Hip Hop, Breaks, Drum n Bass, Soul & Funk. Scratching is his passion, and he is currently the Head DJ tutor at Point Blank Music College (www.pointblanklondon.com). He has played in venues across London including Cargo, the 10 Rooms and the Marquee Club with the band 1 i Bear, which includes members of the Brand New Heavies and Dub Conspiracy. He is currently a resident at 'No Rest For The Wicked', a Live D&B/ Breaks & Hip Hop night which takes place at The Rhythm Factory, Whitechapel, London and is hosted by D&B band Step 13 (www.nrftw.com). He also one of the DJ's on rotation at Hip Hop night 'Brand New Beat', based at The Social, Little Portland Street (www.brandnewbeat.com) and resident at South London based D&B night Backdrop (backdrop-breaks.co.uk. He cut his teeth playing 5 deck sets in his home town of St Albans with DJ B! (www.beezwax.co.uk) and has played solo at venues including The Great Connaught rooms, The End, The Medicine Bar (Islington), The Old Queens Head (Islington), The Social, The Orange Corner (San Antonio- Ibiza) Batchwood Hall (St Albans), Hidden (Vauxhall), ULU, and The Rocket Bar (Met Uni, Holloway road). He has instructed some high profile students in his time as a DJ tutor, including Radio 1's Annie Nightingale and the star of the wicked Chris Morris comedy 'Nathan Barley'. He has also been interviewed on ITV's London Tonight and provided scratching samples for Point Blank sample CD's and the Bacardi DJ website. Mr Bristow has flexed the decks alongside acts such as DJ Yoda, Shy FX, Stig of The Dump, The Freestylers, Bad Company, Randall, Shut Up n Dance, Skrein, Blakey, The Drunken Allstars and Foreign Beggarz to name but a few. He guested on Tayo's kiss 100 Breaks show in 2006 and has also been interviewed on the benefits of digital DJ-ing for DJ magagazine. Mr Bristow is currently scratch DJ for up & coming live Hip Hop band, Kaned & Able, alongside MC's Rumpus & Foulmouth, Vinyl Ritchie (Guitar) T-Phonic (Samplers/ Vox), Mick The Drummer, Glanville (keys), Jack Ritchie(Bass), and Adam Bailey (Guitar).
