WE HAVE TAKEN OFF OUR SONGS BECAUSE THEY ARE FROM LIGHTYEARS AGO AND NOWHERE CLOSE TO WHAT WE SOUND LIKE. ALSO THEY JUST PLAIN SUCK DICK BECAUSE OF THE MUSICAL TALENTS AND ATTITUDE OF THE OTHER MEMBERS.Forty Feet Away:
In the midst of Forty Feet Away... Way back in the year 2004; before totally outrageous gas prices, bogus hurricanes and tsunamis, Wedding Crashers and before Cameron developed righteous long hair; this epic band was taking development.
In Forrest Garrison's spare bedroom Zach Johnston, Zack Dismer, Elliott Post and Forrest were practicing and writing material for their band "The Bus Ride Home". The band was quite unsuccesful and soon was in the middle of losing the band's only lead singer. From that point on, the vocals were traded off by guitarist, Zach Johnston, and bassist, Zack Dismer. At this point in time.... to be dead honest... these three young gentlemen could hardly play their instruments well.
After awhile the band was caught up in the confliction of friendship and a member change when the band sacrificed longtime friend Post for a new drummer, Steuart Wainright. In due time these three lads would make a sound that their island had never heard.
Under the name Youngwood, these three kids averaged on making two songs a practice. After recording a ten track demo entitled "Jack Your Late" and playing only three shows the band broke up due to unsatisfaction with practices and noise quality of each other.
A few months later, Zach Johnston, Zack Dismer, Cameron Bonds and Brent Tripp decided to form a band since Youngwood had fallen through. In this band, Forty Feet Away, they switched Zack to guitar and had long time companion Bonds on drums and Tripp on bass guitar. After only one practice they could sense a need in change. They got a friend Andruw Simmons to take place on the drums and Bonds to the Keyboard. After meeting with their newly agreed manager, Mike Preatcher, Dismer and Johnston reworked the line up for one last try, reinviting Wainright into their new band and a friend, Gavin Dougherty to play bass.
It was the end of a long school year and the band had the whole entire summer to work with their newly formed band. After only a somewhat satisfactory two or three practices, Bonds left for a music camp. As for Dismer, Johnston, Wainright and Dougherty, a very large "shit storm" headed their way. What started out as a simple game of "TAG" or "ZOMBIE" quickly turned into a game with the police, "vandalism", charges, belts, grounding, and a very long time of community service. It was only the first couple of days into the summer and the boys had already managed to bring in complications. Gavin soon left for a trip to New York with the boys still having two weeks of community service. This wouldn't stop the boys from their dreams of being a successful band. Eventually, Dr. Johnston's temper and hands would wear off from "The Belt Spanking Hurd Round The World". Dismer, Johnston and Wainright then managed to keep practicing and making new songs until all of them had to part ways.
When the whole fiasco cooled down, all the members came back from their partings. They had promises of playing a show with Speaking Out! and Keep Control (Wainright & Lee's Side Project). They played the show without Dougherty and Bonds and managed to be quite successful, considering it had been a while since they played. Upon seeing the enjoyment of the crowd, the boys decided it was time to get serious.
With sadness, they said goodbye to Dougherty, as it was time for them to buckle down. The boys couldn't seem to find anyone to replace Dougherty. So, they left the role open. Realizing it was time for Forty Feet Away to finally record the long-awaited and much needed demo, they spent their time practicing then hit the recording studio, Digital Realm. It was their with the much need and helpful skills of Al Chapman that they recorded their new demo entitled "Angelina Jolie Cant Handle This!". The demos sold quickly and still are (Get your's now!).
Unfortunetly, one more thing was inevitable, Zack Dismer, singer/guitarist, left the band in October 06 for a different style of music he wanted to play. After bringing Tripp back we realized he is really searching for a film career, so we lost him due to different goals and opinions. Wainright and Johnston continued making up golden songs and searching for new members. Tension began to rise and Forty Feet Away went on an indefinate hiatus. Johnston left Wainright and began playing music with the familiar faces of Zack Dismer, Andrew Simmons, and Cameron Bonds. Wainright, on the other hand, continued looking for new members. Both Johnston and Wainright realized that their new projects lacked the energy and style that the two of them started in FFA. Wainright and Johnston did the mature thing and put aside their differences and on Saturday, April 21, Forty Feet Away was once again reborn.
