I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

Artist for hire and I co-own a sign/decal company - I'm the designer and sometimes installer and sales guy. I'm always working.

My Interests

Artwork, design, smoking cigarettes.

I'd like to meet:

Just cool people. That doesn't mean you have to be a rock star. I like creative, intelligent people - people I can have a conversation with and not get bored. It doesn't matter what you do or what your social status is, just be cool.

Music:

All kinds. Favorites include, but are not limited to: TOOL, A Perfect Circle, NIN, Flogging Molly, Statix X, Alex Kidd, Paul Van Dyk, Sander Van Doorn, Eddie Halliwell, Led Zeppelin, Genesis, Sting, The Rolling Stones, The Chemical Brothers, Prodigy, Twista, NERD, Cake, 311, The Beastie Boys.

Movies:

Bladerunner is my favorite movie, but there are so many I love. I'm a bit of a Star Wars geek (the originals do it for me - not the over-FXed new ones).

Television:

I don't watch television with any regularity, though I have found myself making a small effort to watch Entourage. I normally just watch movies and lots of History, Military, and Science Channels.

Books:

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy "trilogy", anything by Robert B. Parker (the Spenser series, etc.), Robert K. Massie books and others.

Heroes:

My Father. There are other figures I idolize - that have had great influences on my work, but my father taught me about life. Spider-Man 80% Batman 60% Superman 55% Supergirl 55% Robin 50% Wonder Woman 35% Hulk 35% Green Lantern 20% The Flash 20% Catwoman 0% Iron Man 0% You are intelligent, witty,
a bit geeky and have great
power and responsibility.

Comics

So, I went to the New York Comic Convention, more at the initial behest of a couple friends than any special desire to be a fanboy.  I remember saying, "the only reason for ME to go is to try to ...

He's so cute, does he bite?

So, my room mate is off to the airport to participate in the reception of a lemon shark that a buddy of ours bought.  Lemon sharks are not the normal aquarium dwelling predators that most people ...

Damsels not in distress...yet

The fishtank has been in the wall for a little while now.  When we finally started filling it with water the overflow (the thingy that sucks water out of the tank to bring it to the filter) wasn'...

Eyeballs deep in muddy waters...

I'm listening to "The Pot" by Tool after a crappy day and it reminds me of my crazy weekend.  I went down to Tuxedo, NY for a bachelor party of sorts.  There may be a follow-up that's more t...

Life is good - who knew...?

So, I'm in this really good mood for some reason.  Nothing truly spectacular happened to me today, though nothing terrible happened either.  I used to get ecstatic over a big sale and want t...

So, last night I walked through a door, literally...

I was out on the deck with my roommmate lighting off fireworks.  The neighbors were having a party and had a bonfire going and were setting off fireworks of their own.  My roommate had had a...

Heights, and why I hate them

I was just up on a scaffold, fixing a sign for Torella's Pizzeria, and I nearly shit my pants.  I hate heights.  I can get myself to do dangerous things, but it takes a while for me to stand...

Gnocchis are great

They're one of my favorite Italian foods.  A close second to Fettucini Alfredo (that's how I judge Italian restaurants - by their Alfredo sauce).  I was just driving home from a friend's hou...
