Sounds Like: Conquercrete - Realistic Crew live video
"Despite the dogged down-to-earth-ness suggested by their band name, Realistic Crew weave together some daringly left-of-field hiphop-tronica on their new album, Overcome. The Hungarian duo of Cabz and Krizo have been working together since 2001 and have recently branched out into making film soundtracks. You can certainly hear a link between that discipline and the kind of evocative sonic universe set out here. The jittery atmospherics and jazzy details of 'Teletaxia' recall Dictaphone, while the odd, seasick trumpeting on 'Skunkfeet' finds itself plunged into a realm of sound effects and field recordings, with the solid boom bap beats and distant piano chords maintaining a grounding in conventional hip hop territory. Although there are one or two guest vocal spots dotted across the record it's the instrumentals that prove to be the real draw on Overcome - the upright bass and rimshot grooves of 'Inevitable' proving to be just one of several standout productions."- Boomkat -
