About Me

"There's too much caffeine in my bloodstream, and a lack of real spice in my life."

I am a tempest in a teacup, not self-made but self-undone, a walking contradiction, a street walking cheetah...ha! I've walked a fine line my entire adult life. I am Hijazi, and from two countries/cultures that are polar opposites of each other, yet they produce the world's worst fundamentalists. I alternate between wanting to become a Buddhist nun or wanting to roll around in broken glass, we shall see which side wins out.

I was born in Beirut in 1972, I have not been back. This summer I lost a family member in the bombing of Sidon, a cousin was smuggled out of Lebanon. I am heartsick over the state of affairs in The Middle East, it pretty much consumes me. Well, that and poetry which I eat, sleep, dream, and breathe. I spent both Gulf Wars in The Middle East, lived as a civilian in Jiddah where we taped our windows and stockpiled water. We had only one gas mask in a family of five. The second Gulf War I lived in Dubai, if you want to understand that experience please watch the excellent documentary Control Room.

Here's how I live; how I've lived: I've been called Punk, I've been called Deathrock a la UK '84, I'm in love with a '77 world! I spent my twenties involved in an East Coast scene going to shows, shows, shows! I also DJ'd all over DC and a night in Baltimore from 97-2001.I DJ at ASYLUM in Adams Morgan Washington DC every Saturday night in the dungeon www.asylumdc.com- I NOW BOOK BANDS! EMAIL [email protected] or [email protected]

I'm a makeup junkie, dayglo-red hair dyer and a tattoo collector. I'm an A student pursuing a degree, a tea drinker especially Yorkshire Gold and Tippy Assam. I write, I write, I write.

I'm a proud Arab and politically Pro-Palestinian, I'm highly politicized; I'll give you a piece of my mind. I don't accept stupidity, I'll tell you you are and stare you down. I'll stare down most anyone even if it means a blow to the head while handcuffed. The most important lesson learned in my life so far: if you haven't lived even partially like the movie Sid and Nancy then you have missed out. ..width="425" height="350" ..
