Notable placings 3rd at the 2007 Soul Bowl U.S. Open, Second place in Alabama WCS event and 2nd behind awesome skater Buck Smith at the Kona WCS Event 2007.

His skateboarding career started in Las Vegas at the age of 17.
Street and spillway riding was the thing at the time.
After graduating from Las Vegas high school in 1981, Steve moved to LA the next weekend to pursue a skateboarding future. Becoming roomates with Pro Veraflex skater Freddie DeSoto, Steve skating hard for a couple of years and worked at the Whittier skatepark, Steve got sponsored by Powell Peralta, the biggest skateboard company of the time. The team consisted of skateboarding legends Steve Caballero, Tony Hawk, Mike Mcgill, Lance Mountain & Rodney Mullen. Some of the sports top skaters.
Being on the Bones Brigade team made the biggest difference in the world.
The Bones Brigade was only about skating and being the best you could be, No ego’s. After becoming the top amateur skater in the CASL circuits for a couple of years straight.
Steve won all of the amateur events on Friday & Saturday at the “the Pipeline†skatepark in Upland CA except for the pool event where he placed a close second to Kevin Staub, and then turned Pro the next day. No one has ever skated that much in 3 days.
Steve stayed in the top 3 the entire contest and ended up getting fourth place in the Pool event. Steve won all of the other Pro events Pipe pasting, Longest board slide, Bank Slalom & longest carve. Steve then moved on to the next Pro event the next weekend at Eagle Rock Ca. & Placed second.
Steve placed 2nd behind his own long time skateboard idol Steve Caballero.
Steve beat top skaters like Christian Hosoi, Neil Blender, Lester Kasai, Gator and more. The next Pro contest was in Nebraska and Steve placed fourth. After all of these consistent placings, Steves sponsor Stacey Peralta told Steve he was going to get the next Pro signature model from Powell.
Steve’s signature board was released 3 months later.
His skateboard, t-shirts and stickers was Powell Peralta’s number one seller for over a year straight. Steve’s signature skateboard products had become one of the signature classic graphics in skateboard history, Even to this day skaters are aware of his entity.
Steve had broken racial barriers by becoming the sports first top Professional Black skateboarder of its time. He really inspired more black skaters to be part of skateboarding and have fun.
His signature Powell skateboard Decks, T-shirts and Stickers are currently
re-issued by Powell and is doing very well.
Powell has released a Steve Steadham SP Formula Signature Wheel in 2007. Steve has a great relationship with George Powell and Skateone. They have been making killer quality products for a very long time. George Powell is an amasing person
Also released are Street decks with his classic graphics on them.
Steve has been blessed greatly by Jesus Christ, for without his love,
Steve’s existence would have never become reality.
Then and now he blesses Steve.
After traveling the World for many years,
Steve’s passion turned to music. Steve started producing music.
He plays the drums, Keyboards, sings and produces his groups Citizen X, Freightrain, Funkenstein,
the Elementz and the Ghostown Big Band.
All of these groups have Full-length albums & DVD's out. Steve has finalized a music project he has been working on for 3 years.
A 25 disc CD set titled “the Planetzâ€. Really 27 CD’s (2 disc’s are hidden) consisting of all styles of music.

He is also currently skating again and is at all of the major skateboard and music events. His main Project is a Music/Skate DVD that features the Worlds top skateboarders. Tony Hawk, Danny Way, Eric Kosten, Dae Won Song, Bob Burnquist, Bucky Lasek, Brian Sumner, Jereme Rogers, Rodney Jones, Caballero, Lance Muntain, Mike Mcgill, Lester Kasai,Buster Halterman, Chris Miller, Chris Gentry and the list goes on and on.
