About Me

I'm currently working on a project called Hot Knives with Jeff Miller and Joe Sharrino. It's evolving into something worth fighting for.

My first touring band was Planet Be . A big 6 piece, 2 guitar, hammond organ, 4 part vocal, sleep on the floor and do it some more, jam band. We toured the east coast and Colorado a lot. One major highlight was opening for Aquarium Rescue Unit at the Paradise . I'll never forget the incredible lessons in mastery that Oteil Burbridge and Jimmy Herring issued from the stage that night.
The next group I committed to was All the Queen's Men . AQM started out as a PJ Harvey influenced, rock group and turned into a Nina Hagen influenced rocktronica sound. In the early days we made many trips to Nashville to play at the Exit/in and 12th & Porter. In the later days we rubbed elbows with Count Zero and had the good fortune to land on a bill with The Strokes and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club at TT's . That was before Is This It? was released, and let me tell ya' - there were a lot of jean jackets there that night.
Following AQM I got my throttle on with Unwelcome Wagon , where we dutifully explored the limits of a three stringed, detuned, guitar type thing called the Aachroach. We were unwelcome on a bunch of cool bills with bands like Tootsie (now Jaded ), Scissorfight , Medium (now Seemless), Waltham and Reverse, to name a few. Eventually, we got religious and turned into No Bozos in order to properly worship the gods of thunder, KISS and Van Halen . That was pretty crazy, and we played some memorable shows at Harper's Ferry, Bill's Bar, The Compound, Ralph's, Dodge Street, you know the drill.
Unable to kick my rock n' roll hitch-hiking habit, The Charms picked me up and rolled me away in their '57 chevy to get pure and preen. It was a 60's dream, with triumphs and go-go's, Farfisa's, Orange's, hookah's and lots and lots of cool shows, including: Little Steven's Christmas A Go-Go at the Water Street Music Hall with The Chesterfield Kings ; a Cheap Trick tribute show hosted by The Rudds ; a sold-out Damone show at TT's; a Click Five showcase at the Paradise; and a Little Steven Underground Garage party with Bona Roba . Playing with The Charms gave me lots of funny stories that tequilla shots often drag out of me.
Somewhere near ManchVegas I jumped off The Charms bus and into a set of Hot Knives .
