About Me

I've been a Boston area musician since 1988, currently playing drums with Axemunkee . I have played with many bands over the years, including Bentmen , Voodoo Screw Machine , Sendelica , Larry Banilow , Casey Desmond , Doug Wynne , No Bozos , Unwelcome Wagon , Ape/Megalopolis , TubTime , Directive 4 , Tot Finder, FirePig , Nail, The Dark Young , Billy Death , and Raymaker. I've also performed with Reeves Gabrels , Voodoo Butter, One Of Us , Dr. Nancy Mroczek PhD and The Zeppelin Band . In recent years, I've started recording my projects myself, including most of the tracks in my player.
I've recently joined the production team on Bay State Rock at WAAF with Carmelita.
Get your copy of the Axemunkee CD, "SideWalk Mary" today!
Be sure to visit my web site for more audio and video selections!
Also, visit my Recording page! I'll record your band right in your practice space, and mix the tracks at my home studio. I am also available for live recordings, using the same approach. Only $20/hr!
Need high quality digital transfers of your old and/or rare analog audio recordings? I do vinyl, cassettes, 1/4" stereo reel-to-reel, even 8-track cartridges. Basic transfer fee is $10 per LP or tape equivalent (up to 60 minutes), $7 for EPs and 12" singles, $3 for 7" singles. Noise reduction and editing services available for an additional fee.
Here are some videos for you to enjoy (yup, that's me playing drums on all of 'em)...

My Interests

Band Members: First up is a brand new recording by Axemunkee called "Catastrophic Twister", recorded by Brian Wanders at CDIA with help from Jonathas Barbados, Gabe Herman, and Dan Cardinal. That's Catherine Capozzi on guitars and bass, and me on giant drums.
Next is an acoustic version of "Kinetic Gypsy" by Axemunkee , recorded live on the air on WAAF. That's Catherine Capozzi on acoustic guitar, Chris Farrell on bass, Tamora Gooding on percussion, and me on drums.
Third is the opening track ("Standing On The Edge") from the latest Sendelica CD. We recorded this at Brown University on May 2, 2008. Pete Bingham on guitars, Glenda Pescado on bass, Nemesis on vocals, and me on drums.
Next is an old favorite of mine from Megalopolis , a power trio I played in during the late '90s. That's Frani Lugo on vocals and guitars, Jeff Miller on bass, and me on drums.
Track 5 is the opening segment of a lengthy live-in-the-studio jam by Directive 4 from 1999, featuring Jeff Miller on bass, Scott Collins on guitar, and me on drums. This was one of the first recordings I made with my Fostex 460 4-track machine.
Sixth is a Bentmen recording from the movie soundtrack "Mark Of The Astro-Zombies". That's Kathy Desmond ..boards, Crazy Eddie Nowik on guitars, Dark Mark White on bass, Frank Coleman on electronic drums, and me on acoustic drums.
Next is the latest track from my experimental Iron Snowflakes On Mercury project. That's Pete Bingham on guitar, Tim Mungenast on guitar, Lizzy Daymont on bass, Jeff Hudgins on alto sax, and me on drums.
Eighth is an old favorite from FirePig , "D.Y.R.M". That's Jeff Hudgins on vocals, Greg McMullen on guitars, Dark Mark White on bass, Al Natanagara on more guitars (I think), and me on drums.
Number nine is "Face On Fire", from Unwelcome Wagon , featuring Jeff Miller on vocals and guitars, Jeff Aach on Aachroach, Chris Farrell on bass, and me on drums.
Finally, a bizarre recording of me banging away on a set of coffee cans (plastic lids) ca. 1978-1979. Thanks to a malfunctioning tape recorder, it sounds delightfully bizarre!
Influences: Influences include drummers such as Ian Paice, John Bonham, Alex Van Halen, Terry Bozzio, Bill Bruford, Tony Williams, Joe Morello and Ginger Baker. And I can't forget my two favorite teachers, Ric Wright and Steve Wilkes!
Some producers that I especiallly look up to are Bill Laswell, Chris Goss, Ted Templeman, Jimmy Page, Frank Zappa, and of course, George Martin.
As for stuff I've been listening to lately, I'd say the top three represent a return to my roots: Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, and Dave Brubeck.
Sounds Like: You'll never pin me down... NEVER!!!
