A Jacksonville native, Brandon has always had a very instinctive sense to make things happen. "My first school referral was for racketeering. Seriously, that's what the teacher wrote on the referral. In 3rd grade we'd collect quarters from people at the laundry mat across the street from my school, save all the money up and then buy all the candy, saltines for salads and other items from the school cafeteria. We'd then sell them to the kids and teachers at a higher rate. I guess we were doing it too well, because the teachers started to think it wasn't so cute, so they wrote us up," said Brandon of his very creative business strategy. From those seeds Brandon would maintain that business mindset and excel in school through science, english and music. "I became a classical bassist in high school. Never saw that coming, as my focus was computers in middle school. I've always had a thing for music because my father had tons of old records and my sister was an intense hip-hop enthusiast. But even with all that, I never thought for a second I'd end up doing this New Blood thing."In 2005, while attending Tallahassee Community College, Brandon and a group of radio station interns grew weary of observing other promoters, DJ's, and artists advancing off their hard work. So with Brandon's vision and hard work, New Blood Entertainment was formed; Brandon finally had the outlet he always needed to be successful. "I couldn't see myself doing anything else. New Blood has gotten me through some very though times in my life. I'm good at my job. I'm where I want to be."Since returning to Jacksonville at the end of 2005 New Blood's Jacksonville division has participated promoting and execution of many club nights, concerts, non-profit events, symposiums, and other entertainment based efforts. Everyone knows the New Blood name and it will only get better in 2007!"I think that I was born to be in this position, to be doing exactly what I'm doing at this moment. We collectively have the responsibility to do the best we can for ourselves AND those around us. Such is the reason for the existence of a company like New Blood Entertainment."Brandon "B." Jacobs,Co-CEO of New Blood Entertainment"Yeah, who would have ever thought the kid on the left would grown into the man on the right. Hell, it surprises me everyday! I used to try to hide how corny I was growing up, but I think now, as an adult that it depicts the story of who I am now and what I still have yet to become. I was the smart kid who didn't have to work that hard and I still don't (at least I don't think so). For a while I was ashamed that my parents had nice things, mainly because I saw how my friends lived (which was nothing like how we lived) and I felt like I owed it to them to be mad at my parents for making sure we had a nice place to stay. I was ashamed of where I grew up when I wasn't with my grandmother when she was living behind Andrew Jackson, but now I know that had I not had my parents to say "Brandon, dont' say 'ain't' that's not a real word, I wouldn't be able to step into a corporate office and conduct myself in the manner in which I now do. Yeah, that kid was corny, but I'm proud of who he turned out to be...me.
