King Ron

THE ORIGINAL TWO HANDED BANDIT, YOU ALL READY KNOW

About Me

MyGen Profile GeneratorFor 20 years, King Ron has aspired to reach the epitome of turntablism. In 1987, when the era of break-dancing and beat boxing converged to rapping and "djing", he received one SHARP turntable with a broken needle weight as a gift. After seeing RUN DMC live in concert, he was certain that being a DJ/Turntablist was what he was placed on this earth to do, so Ron began spending countless hours in his room atempting to master his newfound passion. As an upcoming turntablist he realized that his objective was to make a mark on hip-hop that would never be forgotten, just as those he was heavily influenced by such as: Grandmaster Flash, Magic Mike, and of course Jam Master Jay. After taking his knowledge of turntablism from zero understanding to knowing almost everything there is to know about the craft, he began his journey. He started to build his name by doing parties, entering DJ/Turntablist battles and striving to take the art of turntablism to a new level.

Throughout the years King Ron has hosted and appeared at many events, such as NE Florida's Annual Car Show, the nationally acclaimed First Fridays in Jacksonville, B.E.T.'s Rap City, Spring Bling and Teen Summit just to name a few along with several radio mix shows on 1570AM (the largest AM station in the US) and WHJX 105.7FM, and FOXI 107FM.

In addition to these events King Ron has participated in shows with the likes of Lil Wayne, Mystikal, Camoflauge, Yung Joc, Luke, KRS ONE, Chingy, Thrill Da Playa, Doug E. Fresh, Tampa Tony, Crucial Conflict, 8Ball, Goodie MOB, 95 South, Montell Jordan, to Trick Daddy and many more.

Today King Ron is a highly respected DJ/Turntablist especially the southeast region and throughout the country. He has performed from Los Angeles to Miami and countless cities in between. King Ron has built relationships with many members of the entertainment community and is recognized by several record labels and magazines for his support of new artists by breaking new music. Ron is currently the music director for Upstart Entertainment & Record Pool and is also a proud member of the Hittmenn DJs & TECH.NITIONS.

After all the competitions, awards, and tours, King Ron says "There is still alot I feel I need to accomplish, so now I turn my attention to promote the art of turntablism, not just djing. What's the difference you ask? A DJ is someone who plays recorded music, and a turntablist is a person who has the ability to take recorded music and sounds, and change the way they were intended to be played by creating new music."

King Ron will continue to strive to reach new heights; giving 200% to help bridge gaps, push limits and rewrite the contemporary rules of the music industry so we may all excel and reach new heights.
