IN A STREAM OF CONSCIOUSNESS ORDER.... skiing, being on my boat, enjoying my family and friends, cooking and eating, God, reading, getting outdoors, working on my house, working out, the Colorado River, playing poker, laughing, living the good life, musing, reconciling faith and sexuality, trying to be a good parent for my new boxer puppy maggie, rocking out, giving people crap, drinking coffee, having a few cold ones, playing with my ipod
People with depth, fellow music fans to point me in some new musical directions, someone articulate, new friends, new professional contacts, soft-hearted people, someone who's not afraid to be honest with him/herself, good people who I wouldn't hesitate to introduce to my family and friends. I am choosy about my friend list, so let's correspond first before you send me an add!
One of my passions.... my foundation is classic/hard rock and heavy metal (KISS, Judas Priest, Led Zeppelin, Metallica, Megadeth, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Journey, Aerosmith, Van Halen, Bob Seger), but I love tons of other stuff too. I have almost 600 CDs with everything from classical to world music, jazz, rock, metal, rap, country, and most things in between. Some examples- Radiohead, Sarah McLachlan, Miles Davis, Dr. Dre, U2, Jason Mraz, Ryan Adams, the Killers, The Fray, Mason Jennings, White Stripes, Tool, and so much more. I'm all over the musical map. I have an ipod playlist that has Cher and Slayer on it! If it's good, I like it. Seriously. I have a tendency to absorb the music of those I am around.
The Shining, Forrest Gump, Dead Man Walking, Contact, The Green Mile, Stand By Me, Carlito's Way, Schindler's List, Mystic River- usually heavier ones or artsy things that win random film festival awards or are in a foreign language. Sometimes I like comedies, but I'll pass on chick flicks, romantic comedies, or most lame "shoot 'em up" action movies
Don't watch much.... History Channel, VH1, Discovery, HGTV, and (sheepishly) The Food Network
What I'm reading now (as of Mar '07): Winners Guide To Texas Hold 'Em (so far not doing me much good!), Plan B (Further Thoughts on Faith), Boxers for Dummies, plus my subscriptions to Time and Rolling Stone magazinesFinished in the last few months: The Dirt (Motley Crue biography), Living A Life That Matters, The Kite Runner, Dress Your Family In Courdorouy and Denim, A Million Little Pieces (maybe it was fake, but it is riveting)
My mom for always having faith; the Apostle Peter
