In his 21 years, Tony Tyler has already shared the stage with members of The Allman Borthers, The Derek Trucks Band, Wet Willie, and The Marshall Tucker Band just to name a few.

He is not only an accomplished singer/songwriter/guitarist, he is also proficient ..boards, harmonica, drums and other instruments. Tony first began playing music at the age of seven. He played drums and percussion with his father's band, Crossfire. At the age of twelve, Tony began playing guitar and keyboards, paving the way for the formation of the Tony Tyler Band.

In 2000, Tony was approached by the manager of the nationally broadcast Nickelodeon Network’s teenaged band , East of August. This band, young as they were, featured two members that appeared on the 2000 Grammy Awards. The group was in dire need of a vocalist, and Nickelodeon’s parent company, Universal Studios in Hollywood, offered Tony the position. Regrettably, after a recording session in March 2000, this project came to an early demise due to a corporate merger and the "shake up" of company management.

In mid-2001, Tony was invited to be guitarist and lead vocalists for yet another teenaged band being formed by a former manager of the nationally acclaimed rock band Aerosmith. The group was eventually named Hippiegrabber, and Tony traveled with the group to New York, Boston, and Los Angeles for rehearsals, recordings, and a video shoot. This project attracted serious attention from several record companies, after which a contract was extended. After careful deliberation, Tony decided that finishing high school was his first course of action.

In 2001, Tony secured William Perkins as his personal manager. Mr. Perkins’ road management with The Allman Brothers Band, and his co-personal management of Gregg Allman and the 20th Anniversary Tour of The Allman Brothers Band, allows Mr. Perkins to bring vast experience and knowledge to the career development of Tony Tyler. Tony has shared the stage with many great musicians, including Jimmy Hall and Wet Willie, Devon Allman, Yosi Piamenta, Barry Richman, Yonrico Scott Band, Randall Bramblett, “Dangerous” Dan Toler (formerly of The Allman Brothers Band), Tishamingo, Tony Royster, Jr., Pedro Arevalo (of Dickey Betts and Great Southern), Billy Earl McClelland, and many others.

After eight years of touring with The Tony Tyler Band (formerly The Tony Tyler Trance), Tony recently moved to Atlanta to further his career and put himself in place for the next level of success.

Review of CD by Bill Ector of Hittin' The Note Magazine:

The Tony Tyler Trance
Atlas Records

by Bill Ector

At 19 years old, Tony Tyler is already a seasoned veteran. His first and self-titled CD, The Tony Tyler Trance, exhibits both an energy and a prolific songwriting ability that certainly belies his tender age. With Michael Hurwitz on bass, Stan “the D-Man” Killingsworth on drums, and Tony on guitars, vocals, keyboards and more, the Tony Tyler Trance is ready to take the world by storm.
Tony grew up listening to the Allman Brothers Band and other musicians who once lived near his middle-Georgia home, but this is not just another Southern rock band. All 15 songs on the CD are written by Tony or Stan (who happens to double as Tony’s father), and these guys take on a wide range of styles, with smooth vocal harmonies that really make this more than an ordinary three-piece ensemble.
The opening “Rock Steady” shows that the band can truly do that, and the Latin-tinged “Angelina” takes the listener to another place with its island feel. With special guests David Hood, Clayton Ivey and George Perilli, this one is way cool. Of particular note are the beautiful “Where Are the Angels” and the Beatles-like “The Way (That I Love You),” which lets you know that young Mr. Tyler listened to some pretty fair songwriters growing up.
Remember the name Tony Tyler. You’ll be hearing some amazing music from this very talented man for a long, long time.
