About Me

I love to laugh and everything makes me laugh; from the sarcastic quips that make people feel stupid, to cynical comic strips like the one below. I love life and I love to laugh. Aside from laughing my ass off at every opportunity, I snowboard in the winters and Vegas in the summer (yes I am using the word Vegas as a verb). During the months in between I have started the "taking back Saturday" campaign with my loyal following (my sister Jasmine). We wake-up early on Saturdays with a cow bell (insired by Will Ferrel, of course) and navigate through our hometown of L.A. like tourist. We party, ride bikes on the beach, horseback ride and party, engulfing what we like to call a "lifestyle of leisure." Essentially, I love L.A. although I am always down to travel but most important, I can have a good time anywhere.I have a split personality I am cynical and sardonic. I have a general dislike for cops (one more speeding ticket and they'll take away my license). Stupid people make me angry. Actually, a lot of things make me angry (see "hates").likes: driving fast, black and white converse, the word "no" (in addition to the word "ass"), thirty-five dollar lunches, dollar tamales at el gran burrito, band members, black nail polish (although not on me), bul goo ki, strip clubs (although i'm not gay), cartoons, Rococo and Neo-classical art, baroque furniture, cadillac margaritas, the violin (i am re-learning how to play), sarcasm, having brothers, having sisters, crapless-craps at the Stratosphere, comic banter, and sunshine.Hates: 9 to 5 work, mediocrity, contentment (I prefer to be ecstatic), bad grammar, the phrase "yo, yo, yo", cingular wireless, politics, modern (hand-quotes) art, rap lyrics, people that use the turning lane to cut-off other cars, people that drive the speed limit in the fast lane and then get upset when you stare them down as you pass, people that drive slow in general, and sheep (the human kind).

My Interests

Interests: Many and all!

I'd like to meet:

Someone who drives faster than I do and anyone smarter. The witty, the funny and the sarcastic.

Music:

I am a huge fan of all music. I like everything from alternative rock, classic rock, and metal to hip-hop, RnB, motown and classical. Country has also grown on me but on jazz I'll have to pass; it always puts me to sleep. Specific artists (in random order): Apocolyptica, Steel Attack, Blind Guardian, Marilyn Manson, Sublime, No Doubt (old stuff only!), Mos Def, Blackalicious, Paul Wall, Danny Elfman, and Carl Stalling. These artists are the more outlandish in my taste category, however I have no aversion to all popular artists as well.

Movies:

Anything except "chick-flicks" and preferably a movie were something blows-up within the first 5 minutes, otherwise I loose interest. Of course, a good comedy would be my first choice. Favorite movies to date: The Matrix, Lord of the Rings, Romeo and Juliet (yes, I know...a chick flick but this movie was directed by David Luhrman who is amazing! Also, a gas stations blows up in the first scene), Coming to America, Office Space, The Wedding Singer, Fast and the Furious (part 1 of course, all movies featuring rappers/actors are garbage, and yes, that includes Ice Cube!), The Cell, Dumb and Dumber, any movie with Vince Vaughn, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof...there are just too many to name.

Television:

I may be the only one, but I hate "reality" television. I prefer sophisticated and intelligent programming. Favorite shows and in order: Family Guy, the Simpsons, Sponge Bob, Fairly Odd Parents (...yes, I still like cartoons), Dave Chappelle before it was cancelled, Martin (an all time favorite), Degrassi and Radio Free Roscoe (those of you that are cool enough to get the Canadian channels know what I'm talking about, or should I say aboot, haha - sorry).

Books:

C.S. Lewis' "The Problem of Pain", the Harry Potter Series and soon to be added to this list, my own book (to be completed, fingers crossed, by 2009).

Heroes:

Martin Luther. To date, the only person bold enough to tell the church to "kick rocks" while still maintaining his faith.
