Derek Thompson is a 20 year old Singer/songwriter with a dream. Growing up in a small town in Maryland, Derek's main hobby was music. He has been singing since he was 4 years old in the Church.Growing up Derek has always dreamed of being a singer/entertainer,("When i was bout 4 years old I saw Al Green on TV and I told my mom that I wanted to do That!" Ever since then I have been work toward that.) He was also into Acting/Theater, Derek went to school for Theater for 2 years at Cecil College. He has starred in plays such as "Suessical The Musical","Romeo & Juliet",Westside Story","The King and I","SUicide in B Flat" just to name a few. Derek was also apart of a group named Platinum for 7 years. With diffrent mebers coming and going, Derek still looked to the future hoping everything will work out.Platinum wrote songs together, performed together and all. In 2007 Platinum landed a management Deal with Marquez Dupre'(Jermaine Dupre's cousin) and started working with him. Unfortantly the group did not work out and Derek had to finally go on his own.Many people say that Derek is an all around entertainer. He knows how to work The crowd and keeps us into him wether he is doing a fast or slow song. Right now Derek's Debut album is out entitled "Talking With A Stranger".
